Many existing apps interdependent. Processing, logic, data, UI all tied
together with significant reliance on unfriendly ecosystem of dependent
systems/middleware.

LIFT-AND-SHIFT- V2C (not V2V)
When an Enterprise seeks efficiency improvements moving existing
workloads to cloud (but will not invest in modernization)
V2V Lift-and-Shift will never bring savings, despite what the cloud vendors might
tell you.
Containerising an app can often reduce its footprint by 30-80%. But deploying
Containers at scale is a nightmare, PKS overcomes this.
PKS is a way to bring footprint reduction to legacy workloads in a manageable
way

PACKAGED APPS DEPENDENCY
On average, 80% of all app workloads are COTS/packaged apps
1. Many clients want these to run alongside custom apps
2. Complex dependencies (UI, App Server, DB…)
3. Limited vendor supported configurations
4. CaaS is often the only option supported by the vendor (if at all)
PKS is a great place to run these, benefit from better provisioning, networking
etc without breaking the application.

Replace VM farms with a flexible pool of resources. PKS is a really good fit for
existing VMware users.

Many client decision makers still struggle to relate to pure Cloud Native. A
PaaS can be a step too far.
