programme
An employee wellness program, also
called a “worksite wellness program”, is
a program that promotes and supports
the health, safety, and well-being of its
employees. Wellness programs are often
offered in partnership with health
insurance companies
A wellness program may include some or all of the following
components:
 Health risk assessments , Health screenings
 Workshops on wellness issues
 Healthy potlucks and healthy snacks for meetings and
breaks
 Physical activity breaks
 Fitness classes
 Smoking cessation classes ,
 Incentives such as water bottles, insulated lunch bags,
tote bags, stress balls, pedometers, and cookbooks

Creating a wellness programme
Gain upper management support –management must understand the benefits of programme
for both employees and organization and should be willing to support financially
Create a wellness team – every individual in the team should have all role programme
implementation evaluation and development of programme.
Gather data of employee needs- collect data which include all interest ,Risk, health details of
employees.
It can be done by Health risk assessment , employee interest survey ,biometric testing etc
Now create annual plan – operating plan which include the total budget ,communication plan ,
implementation plan, timeline,
Create supportive environment- Providing employees with encouragement, opportunity and
support towards these plans by
offering healthy food choices in organization vending machine
Implement non smoking policy in premises
Flexible scheduling so employee can exercise at their convenience & rewarding healthy
achievers
Evaluating outcomes-evaluation help organization in knowing which programme is successful
and which one to discontinue and will also help in knowing employees feedback towards these
programme so that further changes can be made.

Chair massages: company may provide on-site professional massages
that employees can take advantage of during the workday. These can
typically be offered in blocks of 10- or 15-minutes or different sitting
posture session, which often allow employees to return to their jobs
feeling refreshed renewed

Relaxation room : If building has a small amount of unused space, can
be converted into a designated space for relaxation and meditation.

diffuse stress and can have fun at work
Exercise classes: Exercise is a great way to relieve and even prevent stress —
however, many people find that it’s often more difficult to make it to the gym
during the winter months. offering exercise classes within or near the
workplace during times that will help many employees (before and after work,
during lunch, etc.). The type of fitness class offered may range from relaxing
yoga to stress-busting kickboxing.
Stress management education: While some employees may enjoy group
activities, others may benefit from educational materials that they consume on
their own time. Organization can make effort to provide employees with
educational materials and tools that may help them to manage time and tasks
and cope with items that cause stress on a daily basis.
Recognition: The end of the year provides a great opportunity to recognize
employees for their hard work and accomplishments. By celebrating workplace
successes, we can raise employees’ morale and allow them to put their
challenges in perspective.
Accenture offers a robust employee assistance program (EAP) to deal with
stress, substance abuse, depression, and anxiety.

made it easier to make healthier food decisions with a simple color-coded label
