It is our great pleasure and honor to extend a most cordial invitation to attend the 13th
Annual Meeting of
the Euro-Asian Bridge Society!
The 2017 edition will be organized on 21 - 24 September, in Romania, a country that has made remarkable
progress in the field of cardiovascular surgery and has always had a focus on progress and innovation in
this area. Our hospitable host will be the beautiful city of Iasi, an eclectic capital of Romanian cultural,
academic, social and artistic life.
The scientific program includes a comprehensive list of topics that will lay the foundation for stimulating
discussions and a fruitful exchange of knowledge. The Congress provides both European and Asian
contributions, research and approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases,
encapsulating a plethora of scientific papers. [...]
Once again as every year, we will express our unity by a symbolic event. For 2017, due to a wonderful idea
of Professor Tinica, there will be held an event, where all of us will participate by wearing our National
traditional costume, proving that Science can unite Nations regardless of historical burdens of the past,
religion views and culture.

ORGANIZER - THE EURO-ASIAN BRIDGE SOCIETY
THE IDEA behind the Euro-Asian Bridge Society of cardiac surgeons (E.A.B) was triggered by
conversations among cardiac surgeons who stem from the South-Eastern Europe and the Middle East
regions, during international congresses in Vienna, who identified the need for a closer cooperation and
friendship beyond borders. Founder Dr. Sotirios Prapas and Co-founder Belhan Akpinar started the efforts
to make this idea possible back in 2002.
A UNIFYING PLATFORM for surgeons coming from those regions was soon apparent that would benefit
the collaboration, promote the exchange of experience, information, enhancing the communication with all
known established societies such as I.S.M.I.C.S., W.S.C.T.S., E.A.C.T.S., E.S.C.V.S., A.S.C.V.T.S.
13 YEARS after its initiation, the society currently unifies more than 23 countries from the Euro-Asian
region, primarily due to some of its defining characteristics. Today, we intend to extend the society to all
European and Asian countries. Friendship, collaboration, exchange of experience and knowledge, together

2. with synergies that help to materialize our vision to further advance our profession, in areas that need it
most through education, specialized training on new techniques and technologies.

Participants attending the 13th
Annual Reunion of the Euro-Asian Bridge Society are invited to contribute
to the scientific program of the event by submitting scientific abstracts.
All abstracts will be submitted online, by filling in the online abstract submission form available HERE.
When submitting a scientific abstract for EAB 2017, attendants may choose from the following presentation
types:
✔ oral presentation (7 minutes for presentation + 3 minutes for discussion)
✔ mini oral presentation (3 minutes for presentation + 2 minutes for discussion)
✔ video presentation (7 minutes for presentation + 3 minutes for discussion)
✔ e-Poster
