3. THINGS WE RISK LOSING - MONEY
•No one can serve two masters; for either
he will hate the one and love the other, or
he will be devoted to one and despise the
other. You cannot serve God and [a]wealth.
(Matthew 6:24)
4. THINGS WE RISK LOSING - STATUS
•26 But it is not this way with you, but the
one who is the greatest among you must
become like the youngest, and the leader
like the servant. (Luke 22:26)
5. THINGS WE RISK LOSING - FREEDOM
•Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A
slave is not greater than his master.’ If
they persecuted Me, they will also
persecute you; if they kept My word, they
will keep yours also. (John 15:20)
6. THINGS WE GAIN - FREEDOM
•36 So if the Son makes you free, you
will be free indeed (John 8:36)
7. THINGS WE GAIN – THE KINGDOM OF
HEAVEN
•36 “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure
hidden in the field, which a man found and
hid again; and from joy over it he goes and
sells all that he has and buys that field.
(Matt 13:44)
8. THINGS WE GAIN – NEW LIFE IN CHRIST
•Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a
new creature; the old things passed away;
behold, new things have come. (2 Cor
5:17)
9. THINGS WE GAIN – MANY TIMES AS MUCH
• 29 And He said to them, “Truly I say to you, there
is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or
parents or children, for the sake of the kingdom
of God, 30 who will not receive many times as
much at this time and in the age to come, eternal
life.” (Luke 18:29-30)
10. LOSSES VS GAINS
• For momentary, light affliction is producing
for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all
comparison, 18 while we look not at the things
which are seen, but at the things which are
not seen; for the things which are seen are
temporal, but the things which are not seen
are eternal. (2 Cor 4:17-18)
11. LESSON 1– MORE PRECIOUS THAN GOLD
• 7 so that the proof of your faith, being more
precious than gold which [b]is perishable,
even though tested by fire, may be found to
result in praise and glory and honor at the
revelation of Jesus Christ; (1 Peter 1:7)
12. LESSON 2: BE FREE FROM THE LOVE OF
MONEY
•Make sure that your character is free
from the love of money, being content with
what you have; for He Himself has said, “I
WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER
FORSAKE YOU,” (Hebrews 13:5)
