4. MATTHEWTWENTYEIGHT
After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day
of the week, Mary Magdalene and the
other Mary went to look at the tomb.
There was a violent earthquake, for an
angel of the Lord came down from heaven
and, going to the tomb, rolled back the
stone and sat on it. His appearance was like
lightning, and his clothes were white as
snow. The guards were so afraid of him that
they shook and became like dead men.
5. MATTHEWTWENTYEIGHT
The angel said to the women, “Do not be
afraid, for I know that you are looking for
Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he
has risen, just as he said. Come and see the
place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell
his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead
and is going ahead of you into Galilee.
There you will see him. ’ Now I have told
you.”
6. MATTHEWTWENTYEIGHT
So the women hurried away from the tomb,
afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his
disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them.
“Greetings,” he said. They came to him,
clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then
Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go
and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there
they will see me
8. FIRSTCORINTHIANS15
Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind
you of the gospel I preached to you, which
you received and on which you have taken
your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if
you hold firmly to the word I preached to
you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
9. FIRSTCORINTHIANS15
For what I received I passed on to you as of
first importance: that Christ died for our
sins according to the Scriptures, that he was
buried, that he was raised on the third day
according to the Scriptures, and that he
appeared to Cephas, and then to the
Twelve.
10. FIRSTCORINTHIANS15
After that, he appeared to more than five
hundred of the brothers and sisters at the
same time, most of whom are still living,
though some have fallen asleep. Then he
appeared to James, then to all the apostles,
and last of all he appeared to me also, as to
one abnormally born.
11. PSALM16
Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue
rejoices;
my body also will rest secure,
because you will not abandon me to the
realm of the dead,
nor will you let your faithful one see decay.
You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
13. FIRSTPETER1
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given
us new birth into a living hope through the
resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
and into an inheritance that can never
perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is
kept in heaven for you, who through faith
are shielded by God’s power until the
coming of the salvation that is ready to be
revealed in the last time.
14. FIRSTPETER1
In all this you greatly rejoice, though now
for a little while you may have had to suffer
grief in all kinds of trials. These have come
so that the proven genuineness of your
faith—of greater worth than gold, which
perishes even though refined by fire —may
result in praise, glory and honor when
Jesus Christ is revealed.
15. FIRSTPETER1
Though you have not seen him, you love
him; and even though you do not see him
now, you believe in him and are filled with
an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you
are receiving the end result of your faith,
the salvation of your souls.
