โข The name k comes from the Danish word
koagulation vitamin (clotting factor).

There are 3 forms of vitamin K:
โข Vitamin K1 or phylloquinone-green leafy
vegetable
โข Vitamin K2 or menaquinone-produced by
bacteria in fermented food
โข Vitamin K3 or menadione- found in synthetic
form.
