2. What is a Prostate ?
● It is a male organ situated below the urinary bladder.
● Prostate is classically slightly larger than a walnut.
● The average weight of the healthy prostate is about 10 grams
but when diseased it can increase to more than 100 grams.

● The prostate secretes fluid that nourishes and
protects sperm.
● During ejaculation, the prostate squeezes this
fluid into the urethra, and it’s expelled with
sperm as semen.
