2. The history behind remote-controlled devices
Renowned Serbian-American inventor Nikola Tesla created one of the world’s first
wireless controls, which he unveiled at Madison Square Gardens in New York 1898.
For his demonstrations, Tesla employed a miniature boat controlled by radio waves.
The boat had a small metal antenna that could receive exactly one radio frequency.
3. What is a drone first off?
A drone can either be a remote-controlled device, or it can function by itself based
off it’s programming. They can also be controlled nothing more than your phone.
4. What can drones be used for?
Simply put it almost ANYTHING. Drones can be used for cleaning, surveilling
people, doing research, deliver packages, drive you to your destination,
entertainment, warfare, and many more.
5. Why drones are considered popular culture..
Drones are considered popular culture because the market for them have exploded
since the military advancement on drones allowed for the price value to decrease
giving rise to an affordable price for aerial drones to be used commercially as well,
mostly used in the United States.
6. The potential for
drones
The potential for them is far
reaching going to something you
would see by Will Smith in I,
Robot. But for now they will be
mainly used for entertainment
purposes only. If they aren’t
being used by the government
that is.
7. The uniqueness about drones
Many people would point out the negative aspect of drones in the wrong hands.
Without even thinking of the possibilities drones can give to the world without
putting a gun/missile/ laser on it. For example, drones could monitor wildlife, help
put out fires, help farmers with agriculture, transport medicine, and drones can even
be programmed to be EMT’s which is fascinating. So before you say the usage of
drones is bad, ( can’t really be bad if they don’t have a consciousness) look at all the
possibilities on the other side of the spectrum.
8. My favorite part about all of this being a popular
culture is that this is just the beginning of it.
So 10 to 15 years from now, I want you to just look around and remember the
words I am telling you. Drones will play a critical role in the advancement of
humankind that will either make us or break us.
