UX and MRX are in flux
6
CX is part of UX but where does MRX fit? Or is it vice versa? We first need to speak the same language to even
figure this out. Historically independent silos are converging.

PAGE
Is it a duck? Or is it a rabbit?
7
We bring our language and terms from the perspectives and industries we come from.

PAGE
Our “UX terminology problem” was
everywhere
8
I saw this in my classes, when consulting with internal teams, and with my clients. It started to follow me
like a dark cloud.

UX Lex: An evolving, interactive glossary of UX research terms.
© 2021 Curiosity Tank
curiositytank.com/ux-lexicon
It’s ironic. Those of us who work in UX, user researchers included, aspire to create terrific
user experiences. That’s what we do. But what we have done with our own terminology is
to create a mess. Eighty UXers from around the globe began to address that problem in
September 2019. Here is a sneak peek of that work. More details, and full credits, to come.
