5. Instructions for oil removal from CUTECH

Step 1 - Unplug the planer.
Step 2 - Place the planer at a comfortable working height and supply
ample lighting.
Remove the dust hood and any other covers necessary to expose the
cutter head.
Step 3 - Make sure you lay down rags on the bed of the planer to catch
any residue from the cleaning process.
Step 4 – Cleaning of the cutter head can be done using one of the
following options:

6. Option A - Use an old nylon toothbrush and rags with solvent, such as
mineral spirits or non-chlorinated brake cleaner, to clean off the oil. The
knives are sharp, be careful not to cut yourself.
Option B - Using the supplied T-25 T-handle Tore tool, carefully remove
the cutter tips or knives. Again, be EXTREMELY CAREFUL when handling
the knives or cutter tips as they are VERY SHARP!!! Separate the
knives/tips from the screws and place in separate containers with a bit
of solvent.

7. After wiping off the head, wipe down any other crevices, rollers, or
any other places where oil is visible. The object is to remove the
grease before the planer is put into use. Use a sacrificial board after
cleaning to test for remaining grease. If oil is still apparent, repeat
whichever method you used above.
