more than 250 million people, in more than 200 countries in 33 languages.

shows and television advertising.This freemium version was ad supported and revenue stream
was de-emphasised here,which led to more usage and hence revenue generation through ads
and huge publicity due to open source nature.
3.To reach out the people who wanted ad-free experience, premium service was
introduced(Shazam Encore) which in turn generated revenue. Thus it maintanced a nice
balance between its open source and paid nature,both of which was a good marketing
strategy.

In 2014, Shazam began working with a company called Digimarc, which scans
objects, such as a bar code or DVD case, essentially doing what a QR code does--
without the QR code. Visually Shazamming something, again, can lead the consumer

investments-PERFECT cross-channel advertising.
