Bagmati Province is one of the seven provinces of Nepal established in 2015. It has the largest population and is the most industrialized province. The province spans 20,300 square kilometers and ranges in elevation from 141 to 7,299 meters. It has a population of over 5.5 million people, most of whom are Hindu and speak Nepali. The province makes up over 40% of Nepal's GDP and has well-developed infrastructure, education, and religious and tourism sites.

Area is 20,300𝑘𝑚2 which is 13.79% of the total area of Nepal.
The elevation of province ranges from 141m at golaghat in
chitwan district to 7,299m at Langtang Lirung in Rasuwa district.
It has altitude low enough to support deciduous, coniferous and
alpine forests and woodlands.
59.27% land is occupied by forest and grassland and 0.02% land
is covered by ponds and lakes.
It has climatic variations which is associated with diverse nature
of its topography and altitude.
Average annual temperature varies from 30degree Celsius to -10
degree Celsius.
6. Government and Administrative:
There are total 119 local administrative units which include 3
metropolitan cities, 1 sub-metropolitan city, 41 urban
municipalities, 74 rural municipalities and wards 1121.
Consists 13 districts.
The present Governor and Chief Minister are Bishnu Prasad
Prasain and Dormani Poudel respectively.
The provincial assembly has 110 members while the province
has 33 House of Representative constituencies.

9. Socio-Economic:
The most industrialized province and has maintained the leading
position in the economic sector in Nepal.
GDP of NPR 1.43 Trillion (as of 2019),
The single largest contributor to the national economy with a share
of 41.35% in the country's GDP.
24.34% land is used for agricultural purpose.
Economic growth rate is 1.2 (estimated for 2020).
Major Agricultural production are Paddy, maize, wheat, oil seed,
potato, sugarcane, pulses, fruits, vegetables, etc.
Good health facilities and other infrastructures.
Literacy rate is 74.85% (male= 82.8% and female= 67%)
HDI is 0.560.
