Kalcho Hinov spoke at a Rotary meeting in Dar Es Salaam about his vision for Africa and the important service projects Rotary clubs on the continent are undertaking. He highlighted clean water, literacy, vocational training, and disease prevention projects supported by both local fundraising and the Rotary Foundation. Hinov encouraged all Rotarians, Rotaractors, and Interactors in Africa to promote their service work and share stories of how volunteering changes lives in order to attract more members committed to helping others.

2. I will take only two minutes.
First to say GREETINGS from
the Rotarians in Bulgaria,
the country of roses.

3. Reading about many Rotary
service projects in Africa -
clean water, literacy,
vocational training,
fighting cancer, malaria…,
I was thinking about the help
of our Rotary Foundation
and also
about the voluntary work
and funds raised locally
by wonderful Rotarians
and Rotaractors.

4. Many clubs did a great job.
The growing number
of Rotarians in Africa
helps to find out
the local needs
and offer help
but also to support
Rotary global projects.
For example
RC Mbarara
organized a marathon
and donated $4500 to
the Rotary Foundation
for Polio Eradication.

5. How did I know
about the projects?

6. I am now asking
every Rotarian in Africa,
Rotaractor and Interactor
to tell the Rotary story,
to tell how
when you help others
you change your own life.

a magnet
attract
more and more
people
to the idea
of giving,
of helping
other people.
