Beschreibung: Dieser Ansatz des Zivilen Peacekeepings ist ein Beitrag zu der Erfüllung der
Nachhaltigkeitsziele, wie sie sowohl von Rotary wie von den Vereinten Nationen verlangt werden, und sollte
in das weltweite Peacebuilding integriert werden. 16 Studien der Vereinten Nationen, von denen zu
Peacekeeping-Operationen bis zur Globalen Studie über Frauen, zeigen, dass Unbewaffnetes Ziviles
Peacekeeping (englisch: Unbewaffneter Ziviler Schutz – Unarmed Civilian Protection) effektiv und nachhaltig
zu Frieden in bewaffneten Konflikten beiträgt. Seit 15 Jahren demonstrieren unbewaffnete und unparteiliche
Friedensfachkräfte der NGO Nonviolent Peaceforce, dass sie bereit sind, diesen Ansatz in größerem
Maßstab umzusetzen.
Die deutsche Bundesregierung hat Ziviles Peacekeeping in ihren 2017 verabschiedeten Leitlinien „ Krisen
verhindern, Konflikte bewältigen, Frieden fördern“ (Seite 51) als einen förderungswürdigen Ansatz
hervorgehoben.

demonstrable sustainability and fits with the United Nations' guidelines for world peacebuilding. It effectively
and sustainably protects civilians in violent conflict and works with local civil society in preventing violence.
UCP is recommended by UN agencies and included in UN resolutions and policies. Opportunities for training
in Unarmed Civilian Protection will be noted.
