First king of the unified
Nepal
Nepal had so many small kingdoms before 1768.
Modern State was formed with the unification of Nepal
King Prithvi Narayan Shah United Nepal on December 21,
1768.
Before 2006, Nepal was a kingdom. Onward the country was
declared officially secular by its parliament.
Now, Nepal is a Federal Democratic Republic.
In June 2008, Nepal ended its system of Monarchy.
