Ruth & Alastair (a wife & husband team), along with 138 other hackers, took part in the GovHack 2012 event held in Canberra & Sydney. The aim was to create the best mashup of open Government data sets. Our team, Cranky Bot, worked on a physical visualisation project called "Climate Vis Jewellery". We got an honourable mention for "Best use of Bureau of Meteorology data sets (temperature and rainfall)" and won the "Best Data Visualisation" for Canberra. Thanks to all the Government agencies for opening up their data, the sponsors and for the GovHack organisers.
