1. Familiarize learners with the meaning and value
of critical reading/literacy 

  • 4. WHAT DO LANGUAGE RESEARCHERS SAY?  3 + 1 Levels of Understanding & Comprehension of Reading Content: * Literal  * Referential/Interpretive  * Critical Reading  ( Feng Liu, 2010)

If yes, when does it happen in the learning process?  Are good L1 readers also good L2 readers?
