About
I spent 5 years as a Managing Director with Ernst & Young's Venture Capital Group, 5 years at New York based private equity firm Spencer Trask and the last five years at Ryerson University teaching entrepreneurship. In over 15 years of seed investing, including 5 seasons of Dragons' Den, I've seen more than 20,000 pitches and helped fund more than a billion dollars in startups. I have three books on the topic of venture capital, entrepreneurship and pitching ideas.
According to the December issue of Canadian Business magazine,I am one of Canada¹s leading experts on raising Venture Capital and mentoring startups. In 2014, I was named Mentor of the Year by Startup Canada.
