3. Bauer
• Kerrang is the world’s biggest selling weekly music magazine and the
original multi platform youth brand for all rock genres. Kerrang delivers the
hottest, news, reviews gig guides, exclusive features, posters, videos and
more every week. The Kerrang magazine is published by Bauer. Kerrang
focuses on heavy/metal rock music and is linked to the goth subgenre. I
think the best thing about Kerrang is its variety of contents. It features
articles with very current bands, interviews with relevant artists/band
members, information about up-coming gigs and reviews on past gigs and
festivals, lots of posters and a chance for the reader to have his/her say on
their feedback page. I think with all this variety there is bound to be
everyone's favourite aspect in there. It is also well written and often very
witty. There magazines have proved successful with the over 80 influential
brand names covering a diverse range of interests. Their wide portfolio of
influential brands gives them advantages over pure play magazine and radio
competitors. They know the target audience’s of particular magazines and
would know exactly how to produce a new popular music magazine.

• IPC MEDIA is a Time Warner Company. They produce over 60 iconic
media brands, with print alone reaching almost two thirds of UK women

collectively reach over 20 million users every month .IPC's diverse print
and digital portfolio offers something for everyone, with a focus on
three core audiences: men, mass market women and upmarket women.
formed in 1963 following the merger of the UK’s three leading magazine
publishers- George Newnes, Odhams Press and Fleetway Productions –
who came together with mirror group to form the International
publishing Corporation (IPC). IPC Magazines was created five years later
in 1968.But those three original businesses each had their own
illustrious history, having been established 1881, 1890 and 1880
respectively with a number of the titles they launched in the late 19th
Century still being published today under the IPC .
5. IPC MEDIA
• IPC have distributed NME which is a music magazine, it was released
in 1952 which created the first official UK chart. In 1963 the formation
of (newnes, fleetway, and Odhams press were brought together). IPC
could produce another music magazine because that is what they are
most experienced in when it comes to publishing and distributing
magazines, so this would mean that they would exactly know what
their target audience likes. Also if people knew it was published by IPC
then if they enjoyed other previous rock magazines that have been
published by them then it may encourage them to buy a new one.
Therefore this would mean that IPC would already have a wide range
of audience purchasing the magazine.
