This document discusses the importance of youth in Islam. It notes that youth is a precious time when people make important decisions that affect their whole life. The document highlights several hadith that emphasize utilizing youth for worship and taking advantage of good health and wealth during this time. It stresses that on the Day of Judgment, people will be asked how they spent their youth, wealth, and knowledge. Overall, the document encourages maximizing this valuable time of youth by educating oneself using the Quran and hadith as a guide to properly prepare for life and the hereafter.
2. – First part: Childhood
– Second part: The teenage years (The Period of
Youth)
– Third part: From marriage until old age
– Fourth part: Old age
3. • Youth is the prime time of our lives
• Youngsters are with full of energy and vivid passions
• Youngsters have strong physical drive and desire
that must be directed properly
• This is the time where people make important
decisions like what to become in the future etc
• Things you do in this time will most likely affect you
throughout your life
4. • Every one of us wants to be young until we die
• If someone says to a young person “You are
looking like on your 40’s ”, what would he/she
feel?
– But natural he/she will be so sad, angry & upset…
• If someone says that “you are looking so young”
what would he/she feel?
– No words to express the joy he/she would feel
5. • Because youth is the prime time of your life, it is
very precious to Allah Azza Wajal too
• Islam takes very special care of the youth and
urges youngsters to make the best use of this
valuable period of their life
• Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) says that the
dwellers of the paradise will be young...
6. It is narrated by Al Hassan that an old lady entered to Prophet
Muhammad (pbuh) and said " O Allah's apostle ask Allah that I
enter paradise". He answered " O Um Fulan, old ladies are not
amongst the dwellers of pardise" The woman was leaving in
crying in grief. Quickly he called her back and said " Tell her
that she will not enter paradise as an old woman. Then he
recited the verses of Surat al Waq'ia (56:35..)
(Tirmidhi, Kitab sifat al Qiyamah wal Raqa’iq)
7. • Think about a situation of a hot day and you are
standing on the sun without an umbrella for 30
minutes...
– What would you feel?
– You will surely run to a shade of a tree or else
probably you may get fainted
• How about the day of judgment, when the sun is
brought much closer to us?... without any shade?...
8. • Wouldn't you want some shade on that day?
Of course you would !!!
• Every one would demand for a shade at least for
some time
• How happy we will be if there is a shade?
• Do you know that there are some people who will
be shaded by ALLAH by His THRONE on that DAY?
• Allah Azza Wajal will provide His SHADE on seven
people…
9. Abu Huraira [ra] reported that the Apostle of Allah (pbuh)
had said: Seven are (the persons) whom Allah would give protection
with His Shade on the Day when there would be no shade but that
of Him:
1. A just ruler,
2. A youth who grew up with the worship of Allah;
3. A person whose heart is attached to the mosques;
4. Two persons who love and meet each other and depart from
each other for the sake of Allah;
5. A man whom a beautiful woman of high rank seduces (for illicit
relation), but he (rejects this offer by saying):" I fear Allah" ;
6. A person who gives charity and conceals it (to such an extent)
that the right hand does not know what the left has given: and
7. A person who remembered Allah in privacy and his eyes shed
tears.
[Sahih Muslim, Eng Trasnlation, Bk 5, #2248]
10. • Look at the importance that Allah, our Lord has
given to the period of youth
• The acts of all these seven group of people are
“easy to be said” but “difficult to be done”
• The more the difficulty of the test , the greater
the reward would be in the sight of Allah
11. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said:
“The son of Adam will not pass away from Allah until
he is asked about five things:
1. how he lived his life,
2. how he utilized his youth,
3. with what means did he earn his wealth,
4. how did he spend his money and
5. what did he do with his knowledge.”
[Tirmidhi, Eng Translation, #2424]
12. • 1st question is about the life, which is from the
age of maturity until the death. This includes the
period of youth
• 2nd question particularly addresses the “YOUTH”
• Look how important the period of “YOUTH” in the
sight of Allah
13. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said; "Take advantage
of five matters before five other matters:
1. your youth before you become old;
2. your health before you fall sick;
3. your richness before you become poor;
4. your free time before you become busy;
5. your life before your death."
[Musnad Imam Ahmad]
14. • Though we know the importance we have some
obstacles in our path
• We as Muslims especially those who live outside the
lands of Islam; have a great need of a reminder!!!
• Everything we face, see, hear, witness each day
contradicts and opposes our belief, religion, the
manners and morals of Islam
15. Now the questions are:
o How do we face all of this?
o How do we protect our youth?
o How do we make our children grow into adults
who will practice this religion and live according
to its rulings?
o How they will be distinguished by their belief
and their view of life?
17. • What are the goals of our education ?
– Job, Money, Status, Car, … etc.
• What is the most important factor in achieving
these goals?
– Proper preparations for the exams and interviews
• How do we prepare?
– Find the syllabus, read it, understand it, memorize
the important points, revise it and sit for the exams
18. • What is the goal of a Muslim?
– To enter Jannah
• Do we have a syllabus? …
• What is the syllabus?
– Qur’an and Sunnah
• Do we have an exam/ interview?
– Life is the test and the interview day is the day of
judgment
19. • Now imagine, a student who is in an examination
hall
• He opens his exam paper and finds the questions
on one side and the answers on the other side
• After writing the exam, if this student still fails
• What would we think of him?
– You would think that he is the dumbest person around
20. • Assume that Allah gives us 60 years of life
– It comes to around 22,000 days
• Allah gives these many days to prepare for one
day of interview with Allah…
• On that day, Allah will ask some questions and
He wants some correct answers
• Allah is so merciful that He already informed us
the questions through Qur’an and Sunnah
21. • His mercy is so great that He even told us
the answers to these questions !!!
• Us people who know the questions and
answers will we still fail!
