GVK Foundation leads the company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives. The Foundation’s initiatives cover the areas of education, emergency services, community programs and social activities. 6. GVK - EMRI
■ The GVK EMRI (Emergency Management and Research Institute) is one of the
most important social initiatives of GVK. It is a non-profit organization based
on Public Private Partnership model. It attends to every emergency situation
in the country; be it a medical crisis, a law and order situation or a fire
disaster.
■ This service is spread across 15 states (Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala,
Tamil Nadu, Assam, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Karnataka,
Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and
Rajasthan) and two Union Territories (Diu Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli).
■ With the help of this widespread initiative and equipped with around 11,000
ambulances and 46,000 staff, over 45 million cases have been attended to
and over 1.5 million lives have been saved.
■ A three digit toll free emergency response number – 108 is accessible from
all fixed lines and mobile phones across the locations the service is available
in.

9. Housing
• Under the Government Scheme, GVK has provided housing facilities to 1000
underprivileged people in Kothur village of Nellore in the state of Andhra
Pradesh.
• It has constructed Pukka houses for weaker sections in Manikhera Village,
Mukatsar District, Punjab.

10. Sports – Tennis Academy
■ GVK strongly supports and endorses sports
as an expression of excellence among youth.
Inspired by associating with young sports
stalwarts like Sania Mirza, GVK has
instituted a Tennis Academy to promote
future tennis champions.
■ GVK Foundation has been sponsoring Tennis
tournaments such as GVK AISTA Tennis
championships and has also been supporting
various Tennis Associations at state and
national level.
■ GVK has also come forward to sponsor
talented upcoming tennis players from
Hyderabad like Yadlapalli Pranjala, Sama

■ GVK Foundation manages a degree college at Indukurupet village in Nellore
District of Andhra Pradesh. This college offers quality education to students
from surrounding areas. The GVK Foundation also sponsors and provides
scholarships for students across disciplines.

12. National Family Benefit Scheme
■ GVK Foundation has sponsored financial assistance to 200 eligible
beneficiaries under National Benefit Scheme at Indukurupet village in
Nellore District of Andhra Pradesh.

13. CSR As Part Of Various Businesses
GVK CSIA, MUMBAI
■ Women Empowerment - The all-women taxi operator services have been launched
that operate from the airport. These operators are meant to service women and
children and are provided with separate counters, free pickup slots and free parking
spots for their vehicles.
■ Education - GVK CSIA extends support for education by visiting residents of nearby
villages. Stationeries are distributed to the children to equip them with the basic
tools for attending schools.
■ Health - Medical camps are organized for the community members Several football
tournaments, cricket tournaments and cultural activities are organized.
TAJGVK supports various NGOs by purchasing hand-made jute products, organic
bakery etc. and also distributes spare linen and uniforms to the underprivileged.

14. Other Social Welfare Activities
■ GVK Foundation annually sponsors the distribution of tricycles to physically
disabled under Rajiv Gandhi Foundation Scheme.
■ It has supported students of VIT to foster innovation and has also contributed to
educational institutions like Vivek Vardhini Educational Trust.
■ Contributions are made to Suryakumari Abrham Memorial Foundation and other
organizations for purchase of modern sewing machines and computers.
■ Velugu, towards voluntary contributions of buildings for disabled children.
■ Indian Red Cross Society for construction of colleges and old age homes.
■ Sradha and Give India for child care and development.
■ Chinmaya Seva Trust and Yeswantha Rao Chavan Prathisthan for social and
cultural activities.

■ Sustainability remains a constant in all of GVK's projects and initiatives. One of
the highest priorities for them during project implementation and planning is
safeguarding the environment.
■ Rather than approaching it as an additional activity, they see it as a inherent
value which is built-in to their processes. All projects under the GVK portfolio
conform to the international norms of sustainable development.
■ GVK has a high degree of focus on environmental sustainability and in keeping
with this philosophy, they have built in-house expertise to develop Clean
Development Mechanism (CDM) projects and obtain the registration and
issuance of the same in the form of Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) from
the United Nations Framework Convention Climate Change (UNFCCC).
■ Along with reducing carbon footprints, GVK collaborates with local communities
to educate and inform the people about environment and sustainability.

Industries category by the State Government.
■ GVK has bagged the prestigious ‘Golden Peacock Award for Sustainability’ for the Chatrapati
Sivaji International Airport (CSIA).
■ GVK has released "The Sustainability Report 2014" that highlights its significant achievements.
GVK CSIA is the 1st Airport in Asia and the 5th in the world to release a report as per the G4
guidelines.
■ GVK CSIA has been bestowed with first prize for landscape development near Vile Parle
Flyover under flyover greenery and beautification project at 19th Flower show and Garden
competition.
■ GVK CSIA T2 receives LEED Gold certification for its environmental stewardship.
■ GVK CSIA, Mumbai has been awarded the globally recognized Airport Carbon Accreditation
for 2012-13 by Airport Council International (ACI) for its pioneering Carbon Footprint
Management system and processes implemented.
■ Jegurupadu CCPP has been rated as 'Eco Star Gold' by TERI. Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control
Board recognized the Jegurupadu plant for outstanding contribution to the development of the
Eco Park.
