WAL-MART STORES, Inc is one of the biggest multinational retail corporations in United
States of America. These stores dominate the whole America’s retails supper shop and help the
people who has little budget for soaping. It provides their product to their customer with the
lower price. Lower price than any other retail shop .it also operates a chain of hypermarkets,
discount department stores. The secret of successful retailing is to give your customers what they
want. And really, if you think about it from your point of view as a customer, you want
everything.
WAL-MART STORES, Inc LOGO
LOGO- WAL-MART STORES, INC
This is wal-Mart new logo which they use from 2008. Since WAL-MART started their journey
in the market they used several logos in recent year. Time passed their logo evaluated which
makes them smarter and more designable. It is the most significant logo that, introducing a new
font and the iconic spark.
The all-cap letters that screamed WAL-MART have been toned down to lower case. The
star/hyphen/squiggly that's been represented in the Wal-Mart cheer with a hula dance has been
erased. The patriotic red, white and blue colors have turned to tranquil blue accented by a yellow
sun shape called "the spark." The evaluation of their logo does not ever affect to their business
because People aren't going to change stores because of a logo, they are going they provide the
best thing to which can help customer with a their budget or in lower price
Save money, Live better
“Save money, Live better” this tag line used by Wal-mart from 2007. This tagline can help them
to repositioning to their customers. In the past year Wal-mart had a slogan like “Always low
prices” which can help to their business but this tagline did not ensure about their quality. It’s
hard to provide good quality in lower price. The new one is unquestionably better from a
marketing perspective. Always low prices are a feature that Wal-Mart offers. It is an ironclad
rule that we don’t sell features, we sell benefits.“Save Money. Live Better” combines both.
“Save money” is a feature. “Live Better” is a benefit. So it should be more effective. So Cost
leadership is the corner stone of how Wal-Mart goes to market.
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN AND FOUNDING
YEAR
Wal-Mart was founded in 1962 July 2 by passing on the savings to his customers and earning his
profits through volume. Since the first Wal-Mart store opened in 1962 in Rogers, Arkansas, Wal-
Mart has been dedicated to making a difference in the lives of customers. Now this Wal-Mart has
8500 stores all over the world and 200 million customers visit the stores every week.
But the 50 years ago there was just a five-and-dime store, and Sam Walton was an entrepreneur
who couldn't find backers for his dream of a discount mega chain. Walton recognized that selling
for less, meant selling more and making more. He also focused on small rural market, places that
most people ignored. As much as business owners everywhere resent the price-cutting giant, its
own startup story is the stuff of legends.

NAME OF THE FOUNDER
Wal-mart was founded by a great man name SAM WALTON who believed in low cost
operation and providing the service to the customer by low cost and making greater profit.
Sam Walton was born in 1918 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. In 1942, at the age of 24, he joined the
military. He married Helen Robson in 1943. When his military service ended in 1945, Sam and
Helen moved to Iowa and then to Newport, Arkansas. During this time, Sam gained early retail
experience, eventually operating his own variety store.

In 1950, the Walton’s left Newport for Bentonville, where Sam opened Walton’s 5&10 on the
downtown square. They chose Bentonville because Helen wanted small-town living, and Sam
could take advantage of the different hunting seasons that living at the corner of four states had
to offer. Inspired by the early success of his dime store, and driven to bring even greater
opportunity and value to his customers, Sam opened the first Wal-Mart in 1962 at the age of 44
in Rogers, Arkansas.
And the age of 74 April 5 1992 he died.

supermarket.
Wal-Mart AND THE ROLE OF CULTURE
Wal-Mart has been able to successfully enter into the global market because of the use of
multinational business strategy. This strategy involves that customers of different countries are
treated differently for that reason they earn higher profit in world market. They take different
strategy for different country because every country has own culture, taste and point of view.
They named their strategy “Different Stores for Different Folks” Wal-Mart faces lots of problem
to expand their company globally understanding the culture where Wal-Mart operates is crucial.
Culture can influence Wal-Mart’s operation in different ways, especially in the beginning, such
as there are language problems, pricing difficulties and culture collisions Wal-Mart must be able
to handle these difficulties in a way that is satisfying.
Wal-Mart AND THE ENTRY STRATEGY
ALTERNATIVES
When Wal-mart wanted into the Mexican market they see the different things in Mexican
market. So they took a different route to enter into the Mexican market. There are significant
income and cultural differences between the United States and Mexican markets about which the
company needed to learn, and to which it needed to tailor its operations, the local market
requirements would have made a startup problematic. So, the company chose to form a 50-50
joint venture with Cifra, Mexico's largest retailer, counting on Cifra to provide operational
expertise in the Mexican market.
For further expansion in Latin America, Wal-Mart targeted the region's next two largest markets:
Brazil and Argentina. The entry into Brazil was also accomplished through a joint venture - with
Lojas Americana, a local retailer. But Wal-Mart was now able to leverage its learning from the
Mexican experience and chose to establish a 60-40 joint venture in which it had the controlling
stake.
But beside the country Canada’s market was so mature than this country. Canada market and
USA’s market is too kind of similar. So enter into this market they use an acquisition. an
unattractive situation for Greenfield operations, since adding new stores will only intensify an
already high degree of local competition. Second, because there are significant income and
cultural similarities between the United States and Canadian markets, Wal-Mart faced relatively
little need for new learning. Thus, entering through a strategic alliance was unnecessary. Third, a
poorly performing player, Woolco, was available for purchase at an economical price.
Wal-Mart AND STUFFING OREANTATION
Wal-mart is a multinational retail shop all over the world. There are lots people who works in
their different shop in different country. For different country customer behavior and aspect are
not the same all the way. They have differences in choices and culture also. So Wal- Mart uses
the ethnocentric way to organize their stuff. As we know its a international company but it
organize by local aspect so using the home standards evaluation and control process make their
work easier and less costly.
WAL-MART BRAND PORTFOLIO
When large businesses operate under multiple different brands, services and companies, . wal
mart is the large retail supper shop I in USA and outside the USA. There are lots brand udder’s it
umbrella. But there some major brand which is very important to fall under brand portfolio

  • 3. WAL-MART STORES, Inc is one of the biggest multinational retail corporations in United States of America. These stores dominate the whole America’s retails supper shop and help the people who has little budget for soaping. It provides their product to their customer with the lower price. Lower price than any other retail shop .it also operates a chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores. The secret of successful retailing is to give your customers what they want. And really, if you think about it from your point of view as a customer, you want everything. WAL-MART STORES, Inc LOGO LOGO- WAL-MART STORES, INC This is wal-Mart new logo which they use from 2008. Since WAL-MART started their journey in the market they used several logos in recent year. Time passed their logo evaluated which
  • 4. makes them smarter and more designable. It is the most significant logo that, introducing a new font and the iconic spark. The all-cap letters that screamed WAL-MART have been toned down to lower case. The star/hyphen/squiggly that's been represented in the Wal-Mart cheer with a hula dance has been erased. The patriotic red, white and blue colors have turned to tranquil blue accented by a yellow sun shape called "the spark." The evaluation of their logo does not ever affect to their business because People aren't going to change stores because of a logo, they are going they provide the best thing to which can help customer with a their budget or in lower price Save money, Live better “Save money, Live better” this tag line used by Wal-mart from 2007. This tagline can help them to repositioning to their customers. In the past year Wal-mart had a slogan like “Always low prices” which can help to their business but this tagline did not ensure about their quality. It’s hard to provide good quality in lower price. The new one is unquestionably better from a marketing perspective. Always low prices are a feature that Wal-Mart offers. It is an ironclad rule that we don’t sell features, we sell benefits.“Save Money. Live Better” combines both.
  • 5. “Save money” is a feature. “Live Better” is a benefit. So it should be more effective. So Cost leadership is the corner stone of how Wal-Mart goes to market. COUNTRY OF ORIGIN AND FOUNDING YEAR Wal-Mart was founded in 1962 July 2 by passing on the savings to his customers and earning his profits through volume. Since the first Wal-Mart store opened in 1962 in Rogers, Arkansas, Wal- Mart has been dedicated to making a difference in the lives of customers. Now this Wal-Mart has 8500 stores all over the world and 200 million customers visit the stores every week. But the 50 years ago there was just a five-and-dime store, and Sam Walton was an entrepreneur who couldn't find backers for his dream of a discount mega chain. Walton recognized that selling for less, meant selling more and making more. He also focused on small rural market, places that most people ignored. As much as business owners everywhere resent the price-cutting giant, its own startup story is the stuff of legends. COMAPANY NAME: WAL-MART STORES.INC FOUNDING YEAR : 1962 FOUNDING DATE : 2 JULY CITY OF ORIGIN : ROGERS, ARKANSAS COUNTRY OF ORGIN: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (U.S.A)
  • 6. NAME OF THE FOUNDER Wal-mart was founded by a great man name SAM WALTON who believed in low cost operation and providing the service to the customer by low cost and making greater profit. Sam Walton was born in 1918 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. In 1942, at the age of 24, he joined the military. He married Helen Robson in 1943. When his military service ended in 1945, Sam and Helen moved to Iowa and then to Newport, Arkansas. During this time, Sam gained early retail experience, eventually operating his own variety store.
In 1950, the Walton’s left Newport for Bentonville, where Sam opened Walton’s 5&10 on the downtown square. They chose Bentonville because Helen wanted small-town living, and Sam could take advantage of the different hunting seasons that living at the corner of four states had to offer. Inspired by the early success of his dime store, and driven to bring even greater opportunity and value to his customers, Sam opened the first Wal-Mart in 1962 at the age of 44 in Rogers, Arkansas.
And the age of 74 April 5 1992 he died. PICTURE: SAM WALTON (FOUNDER OF WAL-MART)

ASDA was acquired by Wal-Mart, and in recent years, has grown to become Britain's second largest supermarket. Wal-Mart AND THE ROLE OF CULTURE Wal-Mart has been able to successfully enter into the global market because of the use of multinational business strategy. This strategy involves that customers of different countries are treated differently for that reason they earn higher profit in world market. They take different strategy for different country because every country has own culture, taste and point of view. They named their strategy “Different Stores for Different Folks” Wal-Mart faces lots of problem to expand their company globally understanding the culture where Wal-Mart operates is crucial. Culture can influence Wal-Mart’s operation in different ways, especially in the beginning, such as there are language problems, pricing difficulties and culture collisions Wal-Mart must be able to handle these difficulties in a way that is satisfying.
  • 10. Wal-Mart AND THE ENTRY STRATEGY ALTERNATIVES When Wal-mart wanted into the Mexican market they see the different things in Mexican market. So they took a different route to enter into the Mexican market. There are significant income and cultural differences between the United States and Mexican markets about which the company needed to learn, and to which it needed to tailor its operations, the local market requirements would have made a startup problematic. So, the company chose to form a 50-50 joint venture with Cifra, Mexico's largest retailer, counting on Cifra to provide operational expertise in the Mexican market. For further expansion in Latin America, Wal-Mart targeted the region's next two largest markets: Brazil and Argentina. The entry into Brazil was also accomplished through a joint venture - with Lojas Americana, a local retailer. But Wal-Mart was now able to leverage its learning from the Mexican experience and chose to establish a 60-40 joint venture in which it had the controlling stake. But beside the country Canada’s market was so mature than this country. Canada market and USA’s market is too kind of similar. So enter into this market they use an acquisition. an unattractive situation for Greenfield operations, since adding new stores will only intensify an already high degree of local competition. Second, because there are significant income and cultural similarities between the United States and Canadian markets, Wal-Mart faced relatively little need for new learning. Thus, entering through a strategic alliance was unnecessary. Third, a poorly performing player, Woolco, was available for purchase at an economical price. Wal-Mart AND STUFFING OREANTATION Wal-mart is a multinational retail shop all over the world. There are lots people who works in their different shop in different country. For different country customer behavior and aspect are not the same all the way. They have differences in choices and culture also. So Wal- Mart uses the ethnocentric way to organize their stuff. As we know its a international company but it
