impeccably Tory, slavishly
conformist Beckham." X: "Nobody serious
about political change can shirk the fact that
the game has to be abolished. And any political
outfit that tried it on would have about as
much chance of power as the chief executive
of BP has in taking over from Oprah Winfrey."

Real Madrid at 13. He played for the club at several youth
levels, but injuries hampered his chances and, after missing
the majority of the 1985-86 season with Segunda B side
Linares CF, he retired at the age of 26. Having already taken
on coaching duties with Linares, he returned to Real Madrid
to join the coaching staff and, for the 1986-87

21. The rivalry between the two top X clubs can be traced back to some social, cultural and
regional differences. A founded in 1908, comes from the center of Y and was considered
the classic representative of the old high class society of the X capital. On the other
hand, B was founded in 1925 and comes from Piraeus, Y's port, thus attracting supporters
from the surrounding working class area. Both cities have played a major role in X’s history
since classical antiquity; Y was regarded as the cradle of the ancient X civilization, taking
advantage of Piraeus' strategic posistion and forming a unified region with the latter.
During the 20th century, Y experienced a demographic explosion and territorial expansion
coming to enclose all its suburbs, including Piraeus, in a large urban area. These class
differences between the people in the homelands of the two clubs offered further
reasons for the animosity between their fans. B's early success provided a way for the
people of Piraeus to express their contempt for the wealthier classes, by which A was
heavily supported. Furthermore, B attracted fans from all over X who believed themselves
to be victims of social and political unfairness. However, this kind of clash was much more
pronounced in the past, as the class differences between the fan bases have faded out
and the social gap that once separated the two sides has closed over the years.
Nowadays, both clubs boast fan bases that represent all the social classes. A and B?

31. X is a Scottish footballer who plays as a
centre back for Heart of Midlothian . X
made football transfer history when he was
the first player to invoke a loophole in
Article 17 of new transfer regulations FIFA
had adopted to bring football's transfer
system into line with EU law. This enabled
him to cancel his contract with Hearts in the
third year of a four-year deal. His move has
been seen as a revolutionary step in player
rights. Give X.
.
32. An unapologetic supporter of Benito Mussolini, X attracted
controversy when he repeatedly made straight-arm salutes
after returning to hometown club Lazio in 2004. He had done
little to keep his views under wraps: asked to describe
Mussolini on Italian TV show Iene, he replied that he was
"one of the greatest men Italians have ever had".Brought up
as a Lazio ultra, he famously performed the salute during a
Rome derby in 2005 in front of Mussolini's
granddaughter, Alessandra, who vowed to write him a thank-
you note.He sought to play down the controversy. "I am a
fascist, not a racist," he said. "I give the straight arm salute
because it is a salute from a camerata to camerati. The salute
is aimed at my people. With the straight arm, I don't want to
incite violence and certainly not racial hatred." Former
Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi defended X, saying he
is a "good lad" and the salute "did not have any significance".

34. The Interpol started the inquiry following complaints of alleged financial
cheating and breach of promise in various deals that X had entered into in
Spain and New Zealand through his firm Western Gulf Advisory. X did not
come from a rich background contrary to his claims. He owned a house
measuring only 80 square-yards in the Old City. Sources informed this
correspondent that the Interpol official visited X's house at Darulshifa and
spoke to his brother and later met Mr Mir Hyder Ali.
When contacted, Mr Hyder Ali said that the Interpol official had asked him
whether he had lodged any complaint against X.
“I informed the officer that I had sent complaints to the police and the
Chief Justice of the AP High Court against X but I don’t know whether those
complaints were registered or not,” he said.
The Interpol official had a photocopy of X’s Indian passport, Mr Hyder Ali
said, adding, “After talking to me he visited Mr Zaidi who is also a victim of
X.”
35. X once told a newspaper: "I try to put 30 hours work into every day. I never allow them [the
players] to attend banquets, even after their greatest triumphs. They are professionals and they
must always be at their best. There is no magic about success, you work at it. You must never
be satisfied with success. He who stops to sit on a pedestal can they only move one way -
downwards. I must always continue to go upwards."However, in public at least, he appeared to
admit that his strict, uncompromising approach was winning him few fans across Europe, even
if it was the perfect way to bring the best out of his team.
The inner workings of X was later exposed to the general public when his widow, Fiora
Gandolfi, published his notebooks in a collection named 'Tacalabala' ('Attack the Ball') - a
phrase which was one of X's favourites and encapsulated his determination to restrict space
and hassle opponents. The publication painted a picture of a man obsessed with detail, who
would invoke mantras such as "He who plays for himself plays for the opposition. He who plays
for the team plays for himself."
Facchetti later said: "I think his greatest quality was in how he prepared for a game - not just
athletically and technically but also mentally. He was a psychologist and knew how to motivate
players as much as possible. He liked to say things which could upset the opponents, but he
was also a great worker and motivated players to give the best of their abilities. He had
contacts around the world who would give him a report on opponents. When we played
overseas he told us how tall each player was, his hairstyle and even the colour of his eyes - that
is how professional he was about his work." X?
36. Following the 1973–74 season, when X and Leeds won their second championship
in the first division, he was widely acknowledged to be one of the most successful
managers in the country and was considered a leading candidate to manage
the England national team. X accepted the manager's job after Joe Mercer had
turned it down because of his advanced years. In 1977, while still under contract to
the English FA, he quit as England's manager to become coach to the United Arab
Emirates. This was the first time a manager of England had resigned from the
position. The circumstances of X's departure immediately provoked controversy. X
snubbed the FA by selling news of his resignation to the Daily Mail, where the story
broke before the FA had received his letter of resignation.
38. Morten Per Olsen is a Danish manager and former
football player. He has been the head coach of the
Danish national team since 2000, guiding Denmark to the
2002 FIFA World Cup, 2004 European Championship and
2010 FIFA World Cup. In his active career, Olsen
predominantly played as a defensive midfielder and
libero. He played professionally in Belgium and
Germany, and won the 1983 UEFA Cup and three Belgian
First Division championships with RSC Anderlecht. Which
unique distinction does he hold?
39. The early peak of X's long and successful career was at age 21 in 1972 as part
of the winning European Championship team. This was followed two years
later with victory as a member of the World Cup squad. He scored the first
goal for his side in the final of that tournament. He, along with Pele, Zidane
and Vava, is the only player to have scored in two different World Cup finals.
By many of the older and more traditional football fans in his country he was
decried for his "revolutionary" attitude and his tendency for voicing strong
opinions on political and social issues. Before the 1982 World Cup former
"leftist" X caused a major uproar in his country when he accepted an offer by
a cosmetics company to pay him the – what many regarded at that time as a
"scandalously high" – sum of 150,000 Deutsche Mark if he shaved off his
fluffy full beard, used their fragrance and advertised for the company. X?
