3. Maro0n 5 digipak research
O The digipak shown in the previous slide belongs to
the band Maroon 5. What I like about this digipak is
it's vibrant colour scheme and eye catching design.
The authors have presented themselves as
electronic shaman's, this may have been done to
portray them as having magical powers. The
character's that have been created for this digipak
are innovative and different, this might be something
I'd be looking to include in my own as it presents the
artist in a unique way. I like the font that has been
chosen for this digipak as it matches layout theme of
the background. However, I do not like the colour
scheme that has been chosen for the band title due
to the fact it is the same as the background and so
almost blends within it, making it seem illegible.

O On the back of the digipak the font that has been
chosen for the track list matches the colour scheme
and graffiti theme of the front of the digipak. This is
something I like about this digipak because it is
consistent. On the back of this album is an image of
the artist too, this helps to generate iconography by
showing them as being casual and representing who
they are. The fact that they are all dressed in black
might suggest that they have a collective personality
as a band and they’re trying to enforce that within
their digipak. In my opinion, the vibrant pinks and
bold purples of this digipak help to accentuate and
reinforce the genre of this album. The vibrancy of
these colours may help to accentuate the way they
are targeting a younger audience. The cover isn’t
particularly gender specifically aimed, but the colour
pink can be connoted as a generally female colour.
