When Matt DeZurik worked at the Sartell Paper Mill, the owner
asked the young, inventive man to design a valve that would
dramatically reduce pine pitch buildup during the
manufacturing process. He did it, and the DeZURIK Eccentric
Valve was born. It was introduced to the industry in 1928, and
despite the economics of the Depression, paper
manufacturers recognized its advantages and sent in their
orders. Since then, the DeZURIK name has expanded beyond
the pulp and paper industries. The brand is now standard
equipment in every industry requiring dependable valves,
consistency transmitters, actuators and accessories.

3. ECCENTRIC PLUG VALVE
The design of this plug valve uses a half plug that is
advantageous for applications needing a higher seating
force with minimal friction from open to closed position.
The torque seated valves also feature improved shut off
capabilities.
4. DeZURIK 3”Eccentric Plug Valve
Working Method
With the cylindrical plug and rectangular port of the
DeZURIK Eccentric plug valve, exact plug to seat
alignment is not required. Axial alignment is not an issue ,
as it does not affect seat contact. Rotational alignment is
provided by the eccentric action of the plug as it moves
into the seat making uniform, full contact. Without the
need for exact alignment, the plug shutoff position has
much wider tolerances and provides more reliable
shutoff.
