Remember the differences:
Prevention (keeping errors out of the process) and inspection

sampling (the result is rated on continuous scale that measures the
degree of conformity)
Tolerances (the result is acceptable if it falls within the range

8. Statistical Sampling
• Choosing part of a population of interest for inspection.
Inspection (reviews, audits, walkthroughs)
• Examination of work product to determine whether it conform to standards. Results of
inspection include measurements.
Defect Repair Review
• Is an action taken to ensure that product defects are repaired and brought into compliance
with specifications or requirements.

Quality Control Measurements
represent the results of QC activities that are fed back to QA to re-evaluate and analyze the
quality standards and processes of the performing organization.
Validated changes
the changed repaired items are re-inspected and will be either accepted or rejected before
notification of the decision is provided. Rejected items may require further rework.
Verified Deliverables
A goal of QC is to determine the correctness of deliverables
Work Performance Information
Data coming from controlling cost, time, quality etc.
Change requests
if recommended corrective/preventive actions require changes to project management plan,
change request should be initiated.
