3. What is LI-FI?
LI–FI is a wireless optical networking
technology that uses light emitting
diodes(LEDs) for transmission of
data.
Uses visible light communication.
It provides better band width,
efficiency , Availability and security

5. Working Process
All the data from Internet is streamed
into lamp driver.
Data from internet is used to modulate
the intensity of LED light source.
The photo detector picks up the signal.
Receiver dongle then converts the tiny
changes in amplitude into an electrical
signal , which is then converted into a
data stream and transmitted to computer
or mobile.
 If the led is on, you transmit a digital 1,
if its off you transmit a 0.The LEDs can
be switched on and off very quickly,
which gives nice opportunities for
transmitting data.

TRAFFIC
LI-FI can be used for
communications between
the LED lights of cars to
reduce and prevent traffic
accidents.
LED headlights and
tail-lights are being
implemented for different
cars.

 Mostly LED light bulbs are used , which consumes
less energy. Hence cost efficient.
As light waves cannot penetrate through walls, the
data cannot be intercepted; Thus provides secured
communication.
It offers theoretical speeds in the order of giga bytes
per second.
The issues of shortage of radio frequency
bandwidth can be sorted out by LI-FI.
LI-FI is 10,000 times more faster than
WI-FI.
ADVANTAGES

10. The main problem is that light
cannot pass through objects.
Interference from external light
sources like sunlight , normal bulbs
will cause interruption in the
communication.
It is difficult to provide data in a
remote area where there are trees ,
walls and obstacles.
Data transmission can be easily
blocked by any object placed infront
of LED.
DISADVANTAGES

11. The concept of LI-FI is currently attracting a
great deal of interest .Thus, if LI-FI technology
is put into practical use , every bulb can be used
as an alternative toWI-FI hot spot . It provides
simple , faster and efficient wireless data
communication
