One Laptop Per Child ($ 100 Laptop)




The OLPC laptop is sold through the nonprofit One Laptop Per Child, and is now
in the hands of thousands of children around the world, from Ethiopia and
Rwanda to Cambodia and Afghanistan, helping to educate and connect the
world’s next generation of thinkers.

    • 2003 – Continuum implements Upedia using MediaWiki Phase II on Linux


    • Great first step into collaborative corporate intranets but had limitations
            • User participation was difficult due to poor UI – No WYSIWYG Editor
