However, there are a couple of academic policies at UT Arlington regarding excessive credit hours and declaring a major that can affect whether or not you can pursue certain degree options. Grade Forgiveness • Enter as New Freshman Fall 2013 and after - Upon receiving a grade of D or F in a 1000 or 2000 course, a student may, after filing the intent to do so, elect to have the grade forgiven. A student is limited to a total of two grade forgiveness opportunities – Check the Catalog for specific details!!! Academic Policy
  13. 13. Grade Replacement • Entered before Fall 2006 - Upon receiving a grade of D or F in a course, a student may, after filing an intent to do so, replace the grade by repeating the course. The second grade earned, whether higher or lower, will be used in calculating the grade point average unless the second grade is a W. Academic Policy
  14. 14. Grade Exclusion • Entered after Fall 2006 - Upon receiving a D or F in a course, a student may file a request with the Office of Admissions, Records and Registration for grade exclusion if they are planning on changing their major. Academic Policy
