2. Why is it important to study Dr
Livingstone?
It’s important to study Dr Livingstone because he
helped stop the spread of diseases in Africa. He
also saved them from slavery. A missionary is a
person who goes to another country to spread
his religion.
3. why did he become a
missionary?
• Since he was 10 years old he wanted to
follow the footsteps of his stepfather and
become a missionary
• In 1836 he did become a missionary/
explorer
• Dr Livingstone went to Africa in 1856 to
spread his religion.
4. His discoveries
Dr Livingstone made many discoveries such
as Lake Ngami on the first of August 1849.
On November 15 he reached the
spectacular falls on the Zambezi river.
5. How did he survive in the
jungle?
He was able to survive in the
jungle so well because he was a
doctor so if he got sick or
injured he new what to do.He
also had all the good
equipment.
