The fifth grade students will use the voice and video
feature to do the experiment, Suck an Egg Into a Bottle,
to explain the concept of air pressure to the first graders.
The fifth graders will conduct the experiment and will be
able to explain it as they go. The first graders will be
able to observe and ask questions of the fifth graders as
they watch the experiment.

Lesson Objective: Students will create ‘galleries’ based on cloud type. A complete description and appropriate
examples of each cloud type is expected to be included in creating each gallery. Students will use technology
tool Flickr.com.
Steps to Create a Flickr Gallery:
1. Explore- tab
2. Popular Tags
3. click on clouds in tag list
4. in search box, type cirrus clouds; scroll through pages to view examples; remember tags may not be accurate-make sure pic
depicts correct cloud type!
5. look for 5-6 favorite shots of cirrus clouds
Create a gallery:
6. click on first picture you want to include; above picture, click on add to gallery
7. opt for create a new gallery
8. title- ex.: cirrus clouds Group A* (need to distinguish groups if using one account)
description- group must correctly describe cloud type, may use textbook, etc.
9. create a new gallery click
10. add other pics by clicking add to gallery
Create new galleries for other cloud types studied.
11. Select You tab, then Your Galleries to view.

Students will build an understanding of weather and
climate through this Internet exploration.
Task- gather information from selected Internet
sites to meet curriculum competencies
Process- complete activities on weather subjects
using provided links for exploration
Evaluation- complete an online quiz based on
weather information studied while completing
activities
Conclusion- completing this Webquest will enable
students to be more knowledgeable about weather
