2. EMIA-SUFFIX MEANING BLOOD CONDITION. Anemia- decrease in hemoglobin in the blood to levels below the normal range. Polycthemia- an increase in the number of erythrocytes in the blood that may be primary or secondary to pulmonary disease heart disease or prolonged exposure to high altitudes or may be idiopathic. Hyperemia- an excess of blood in part of the body caused by increased blood flow as in the inflammatory response local relaxation of arterioles or obstruction of the outflow of blood from an area.

Glycosuria- the presence in the urine of abnormal amounts of sugar. Ammoniuria- urine that contains an excessive amount of ammonia. Calciuria- the presence of calcium in the urine. Enzymuria- the presence of enzymes in the urine. Pyuria- any defect of the urination process. Paruria- any defect of the urination process.
