This slide set gives guaranteed RF performance values measured in room temperature for GSM900, GSM1800 and GSM1900 Nokia UltraSite EDGE BTS. These values can be used for customer tenders and as network planning values.
The notes below explain how BTS output power and receiver sensitivity values are defined.
BTS Output Power
Minimum output power measured at the BTS antenna connector with the maximum power level.
Output power values are with GMSK modulation. With 8-PSK modulation the values will be 2…3 dB less.
GSM1800 has different values for sub-banded (A/B) and full-band combining units.
BTS Receiver Sensitivity
Minimum BTS sensitivity value measured at BTS antenna connector (without MHA) or at MHA input connector when MHA is used.
BTS sensitivity value with MHA is with high gain mast head amplifier especially designed for UltraSite BTS. Maximum feeder loss can be 7 dB in GSM900 and 10 dB in GSM1800/1900. Note that there is no full-band MHA available.
Dynamic sensitivity covers GSM specified fading profiles TU50, HT100 and RA130/250.
Receiver sensitivity value with diversity covers all fading profiles.
Receiver sensitivity with diversity reception assumes 0 correlation between signals. Correlation between signals varies according to fading environment and antenna characteristics.
