2. Why Did We Choose Horror ?
• Firstly, as a group we discussed different film genres and spoke about what
we like and what our favourite films are. After this discussion, we realised
that a common theme which appeared in our conversation was the idea of a
thrill and the idea of suspense and fear – which are elements of a horror
scene. We then decided that we would create a film of the horror genre as it
was something everyone would enjoy in the group and also felt that we could
create a very effective horror scene. This is because it is a very explorative
genre and can use many different sub-genres and we were able to put
together a range of ideas for horror.
3. Our Film Concept
• A boy who makes the wrong decision to go through a graveyard ends up
getting possessed by a cult
• We chose to use a graveyard and the idea of an apocalypse to enhance the
enigma codes in a horror film. This will be done through the use of low-key
lighting in the graveyard and through the music and sound to create
suspense.
4. Narrative
• A young boy (very popular in his community) is making his way home on a
cold winter night. He is tired and decides that he is going to take the shortcut
home. This happens to be through the graveyard in which he is kidnapped by
a satanic cult of people who plan on starting the apocalypse. After they
kidnap him, they possess him and use him to possess the rest of the
community who end up becoming victims of the cults plans to end the
world and rule a new one.
5. Inspiration For Our Film
• Night Of The Living Dead was a big
inspiration to our film. This is mostly
because of the setting and the atmosphere. It
has a very much similar narrative to our film.
It is an obvious horror, which is what we
aimed to create and were able to bounce and
alternate our ideas from this film.
• Carrie was also a big inspiration to our film.
This is because of the characters. There was
many popular characters and as a group
collectively we thought if we have a popular
character get captured maybe it will affect the
community more.

7. Dream Cast Ideas
• 1. David Dorfman – Jack, the young boy in the graveyard
David Dorfman made his film debut as William H. Macy's son in the acclaimed drama Panic, and then played Gwyneth
Paltrow's son in Bounce. Dorfman also appeared the independent film 100 Mile Rule. He also played Aidan in The Ring
a remake of the Japaneese film Ringu, he was outstanding in this role for such a young actor. He repeated the role in
the sequel The Ring 2 three years later in 2005, in between in 2003 he appeared in the remake of the cult classic horror
film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
• 2. Tobin Bell – One of the 4 cult members ,
Tobin Bell list because he plays Jigsaw (John Kramer) in the Saw series, giving life a most recent horror icon. He is also
a character who looks scary and will frighten young jack in the graveyard. He’s also a great actor.
• 3. Jamie Lee Curtis – The only female cult member, also she is the leader. This shows this cult isn’t any ordinary cult
by subverting gender stereotypes that men are in positions of powqer
Janet is famous for being murdered in the shower in Psycho, but Jamie starred in Halloween and gave us the first
survivor girl. She also played the lead in Terror Train and Prom Night.
8. Dream Cast Ideas
• 4.Boris Karlhoff – One of the 4 cult members
Although he’s best known for playing Frankenstein’s Monster in James Whale’s Frankenstein and
The Bride of Frankenstein, he actually starred in quite a few Universal monster films in very
convincing and great roles. Of course, this includes The Mummy. Karloff often worked with fellow
horror icon Bela Lugosi.
• 5.Christopher Lee – The final cult member
Sir Christopher Lee is an English actor, singer and author. Lee initially portrayed villains and became
best known for his role as Count Dracula in a string of popular Hammer Horror films. He is the
tallest of the characters which will inflict fear into the soul of the boy in the graveyard.
9. Location idea
• Victoria park
• Mabley green
• Mare street graveyard
• London Fields park
• The chosen location is Mare street graveyard. Reason for this chosen locations is because it
links with our genre which is horror also links with the logo, this would allow my audience
to understand the opening, in case you ask how? The logo you can clearly see colors of
which are very dark and dull which links with horror. The background shows a full moon,
branches as well as church crosses and a dirty arm coming out the ground this looks scary to
me…
10. Technology
• Camera
• Light stands – The graveyard is rather dark and we must see all of characters
and their facial expressions
• Microphone
• External hard drives
• Dolly
11. Music & Sound
• We would like to have a very uncomfortable score. This is to put the viewer
in a position where they become frightened, however the comfortability
which they are feeling will catch their attention and make them want to watch
more. We would like to have the sound of the satanic cult worshipping
something or humming to allow the audience to obtain some knowledge of
what is happening in the sequence. Also, this will emphasise the enigma
codes in the horror sequence. Sound is very necessary in our opening
sequence and it could either make or break it, the wrong score could easily
confuse others into what genre our film is.
