ICT for Education
The internet has become a critical part of our lives. It is no surprise that
the rate of the use of the internet, even in school, has increased rapidly. ICT, or
Information and Communication Technology, deals with the use of different
communicable technologies such as mobile phones, telephone, internet, etc… to
locate, save, send and edit information. It has given wings to, students,
educators, and allied staff in many ways. Software in schools has empowered
them to improve their communities through the use of technology related
activities in world of education. But there still remains a negative image of
management software in minds of many people.
The key to eliminate these misconceptions lies on the reasonable
implementation and management in educational institutions. They can do this
by implementing ICT to create positive outcomes for their most visible of
stakeholders – their students. Student uses internet and technology for helpful
educational purposes such as accessing education references. Students can also
learn how to operate the computers, with the help of their ICT teachers.
Nowadays, when schools are increasingly transforming themselves into what
they call “smart schools”, the importance of educational technology also
increases.
ICT is present in many institutions all over the country and it means we
must monitor its role in education. It is necessary for decision makers like
education ministers, institutional heads, school administrators, and educational
institutions to be sufficiently insightful
About methods that enable the implementation of Information and
Communication Technology in schools. Latest technology can develop new
education activities in addition to enhancing existing education systems.
As a student, we should make good use of the internet and the latest
technology. They are very helpful when we use them in a good way. Knowing
our limitations, learning to discipline ourselves and doing what’s best for us are
some of the keys not just to be a better student, but also to be a better person.
