Jerry Tjon has a BSc. degree in Information Technology (2002) from the Hogeschool van Amsterdam (HvA) and a MSc. degree in Political Science (2011) from the Universiteit van Amsterdam (UvA).
His MA thesis “Development and the Post Conflict State: A Comparative Case study of Burundi and Rwanda” made quite an impact; it was nominated for the IKV PAX Christi Thesis Award 2011; was published at the specialist library of African Studies Center Leiden (ASCL); and led to several speaking engagements on the subject of state development and post conflict conditions throughout the Netherlands.
