Hello I am Doyle Sumrall, Managing Director at NTEA. We are very excited to show you what we have been working on to modernize and simplify the work truck certification process. Our agenda for the net 30 or so minutes is to introduce you to the cloud base tool that will complexly change how you create certification labels and keep your records.
Work Truck Cert’s breakthrough approach incorporates the basic functions of certification lab creation along with certification, tire and basic vocational configuration all identified to the work truck VIN and your work order. All three labels; intermediate, final-stage and alterations are accommodated. As well as tire placard and we plan to add weight alteration in the near future. As all data you enter is tied to VIN we were able to use HIS Markets vin decoder to help with populating data and in the future will be able to add other IHS registration data features. INTRO OF IHS PERSONAL & PITCH TO CONNECT WITH THEM. As this is a cloud based program you can access it from anywhere with an internet connected device. We have also built in search to assist you in recalling specific VINs or records based on other parameters like the body type.
Two firsts that Work Truck Cert offers are vocational data identification covering body type to lighting and more. This being added to the database will allow you to do look ups and to identify what was installed as well as search by these attributes. Additional a key request we had from NTEA members involved in the testing was to provide for printing their work order number on the certification label. So we built in that capability.
Use of the AZURE cloud a Microsoft product was both a security and performance based decision. Although this allows you to access Work Truck Cert from any internet connected device it is also one of the most secure data environments we could find. Security is and will continue to be a prime consideration. No single company’s data is accessible to any other company. NTEA will have access to aggregated data to help with informing the industry, government and OEMs as they make decisions.
Label printing is where the rubber meets the road and Work Truck Cert significantly improves label creation. All of the elements needed to create the labels you need are laid out in a logical way and help pop ups are built in to help the operator understand what NHTSA is looking for. Laser printing on a 4 label sheet now allow mixed label types and the printing of 1 or 4 label. We have also made printing on a roll feed ZEBRA printer a standard part of the program.
All and All I believe the benefits you will see as this demo unfolds will greatly improve your productivity in the area. You will also gain the ability to show your compliance with FED requirements for recorder keeping and simplify your ability to look up what you have mounted in aggregate and on an individual truck.
