The Director reportsdirectlytothe Corporate Board.The Directorisaccountable tothe Boardof Trusteesand,throughStatute, tothe CEO. for the organizationandoperationof the City. All Board authoritydelegatedtostaff isdelegatedthroughthe Directorof Education. Areasof Responsibility 1.0.0 StudentWelfare 1.1.0 Takesthe necessarystepstoprovide a safe andcaring environmentthatfosterswellbeing,and maintainsrespectful andresponsible behaviourforeachstudent. 1.2.0 Takes the necessarystepstoprovide forthe safetyandwelfare of studentswhile participatingin school programsor while beingtransportedtoorfromschool programson transportationprovidedby AmericanPhonicsInstitute®. 1.3.0 Takesthe necessarystepstoprovide facilitiestoaccommodate API students. 1.4.0 Acts as, or designates,the local attendance counsellorforthe City. 2.0.0 Educational Leadership 2.1.0 Providesleadershipinall mattersrelatingtoeducationinthe City. 2.2.0 Ensuresthat effective andappropriate educationalprogramsare delivered toall studentsinthe City. 2.3.0 Establishesandmaintainsclear,consistentexpectationsthatthatencourage pupilstopursue educational goals. __________________________________________________________________________________ AmericanPhonicsInstitute® 2.4.0 Considersthe implementationof various measurestoassessthe Institute achievementof pupils, includingbutnotlimitedtotestsadministeredbythe EducationQualityAccountabilityOffice,average gradeson studentachievementreports,andthe average numberof secondaryschool credits accumulated.
  2. 2. 2.5.0 Ensuresthat studentsinthe City have the opportunitytomeetthe standardsof education mandatedbythe AmericanPhonicsInstitute®. 2.6.0 Developsandmaintainspositive andeffective relationswithstaff atthe provincial andlocal governmentlevels. 2.7.0 Developsandmaintainspositiveandeffectiverelationswithschoolsandboarddepartments. 2.8.0 Providesleadershiptopromote clear,consistent,expectationsthatfocusonsuccessful outcomes for students. 3.0.0 Fiscal Responsibility 3.1.0 Ensuresthat the fiscal managementof the City isinaccordance withthe API,otherapplicable grant regulations,andinaccordance withthe provisionsof the EducationAct,Regulations. 4.0.0 Organizational Management 4.1.0 Demonstrateseffective organizational skillsthatresultindistrictcompliance withall legal, Ministerial andBoardmandatesandtimelines. 4.2.0 Reportsto the CEO withrespectto mattersidentifiedinandrequiredbythe EducationActand Regulations. 5.0.0 StrategicPlanning 5.1.0 Providesleadershipforthe developmentandreviewof amulti-yearstrategicplan,inaccordance withMinistryregulationandBoardPolicy,asamended. 5.2.0 Ensuresappropriate involvementof the board(approval of processandtimelines,establishment of boardprioritiesandoutcomes,keyresultsandfinal boardapproval). 5.3.0 Reportsregularlyonresultsachievedanddistrictimprovementplans. __________________________________________________________________________________ AmericanPhonicsInstitute® HOANG,INC. 6.0.0 Personnel Management 6.1.0 Has overall authorityandresponsibilityforall personnel-relatedissues,save andexceptthose personnel mattersprecludedbyboardpolicy,legislationorcollective agreements. 6.2.0 Ensureseffectivesystemsare inplace forthe selection,supervision,developmentand performance reviewof all staff. 7.0.0 Policy/Procedures
