This document provides an introduction and overview of the game "Abridged" which challenges the player to navigate through various compartments using puzzle-solving skills. The player must use a "Bridge Gun" which shoots orbs that can bounce and expand into bridges to cross gaps. The first few compartments introduce basic mechanics - walking over existing bridges, using a prism to open a door. Later compartments require using the gun to create bridges over gaps, then bouncing a second bridge to cross larger gaps. Precision is needed to solve puzzles and progress through increasingly difficult trials.
2. Introduction
This is a conquest.
Rather, this will be. The investigation known as Abridged will be your
proving ground. Through a variety of trial compartments and
challenges, you will risk life and limb to proceed to the next
compartment. Things may start of simple but they will soon heat up.
3. Basics
Before stepping foot into the death defying world of Abridged, take some time to learn
the basics. This is unlike any other first person puzzle game.
Rules of the Bridge Gun
Aim, Fire and Bounce
This is the basic foundation of the Bridge Gun. It is very simple to understand but
impossible to master.
When using the abridge gun you can use it on any surface that you want but depending
on which surface to fire onto depends how much and what physics affect the bounce.
White Surface- Normal physics and average bounce power
Black Surface- High gravity and low bounce power
Blue Surface- Low gravity and high bounce power
The basic premise of the Bridged Gun is fire one of the neon red and blue globes at a
wall and let it bounce. After it has bounce then you choose when you want it to stop and
expand. Precision is key.
4. Compartment 1
Welcome to the first level of Abridged and things start simple all you have to do is wait
for the bridge to appear across the gap and then you walk across it. This is a cunning ploy
to leads you into a false sense of security and to introduce you to the game.
After you have walked across the bridge a prism will drop from the dispenser in the
corner of the room. All you need to do is walk over to the prism, then pick it up and place
it on the button in the centre of the room. This will open the door and allow you to pass
through and proceed to the next compartment.
5. Compartment 2
This compartment is simple, though you’ll need to hang around for a short period of time
at first. You are trapped in a room and you can’t open the door there is nothing that you
can do except wait. The door eventually opens and then you just walk through to enter
into the main section of the compartment.
This is when you first receive the gun that shoots out the bridge orbs (Bridge Gun) . Your
first test using the bridge gun is to navigate your way onto an elevated platform which is
a simple task. All you have to do is bounce one of the orbs of the floor at roughly 45
degrees. Then just continue to the compartment exit.
6. Compartment 3
As you enter this compartment you will notice that there is a large, deadly gap ahead of
you and it is not as simple as just jumping the gap what you will have to do is aim the
bridge gun at the floor and expand the bridge as it passes over the gap to give yourself a
bridge to walk across.
The second obstacle in this compartment introduces the use of both bridge guns at once.
First rinse and repeat what you did for the beginning of this compartment but you will
notice that you will not be able to reach the other side without the use of the other
bridge. To get the other bridge in the right place you will have to bounce it on the bridge
that you currently have out so that it fills the remaining part of the large gap. After you
have done this you simply walk to the door and exit the compartment.
