Trying to figure out where you have to be and what
classes you have that day can be challenging. These apps
help you to create your college timetable.
Understanding your Essay/ Assignments titles is the key
to answering the question. Rewording the title into
your own words can help you better understand how
to answer the question.
Cogi and Evernote are great tools not just for note
taking but they can also store photos (of a whiteboard/
screen) and record audio with your notes and photos.
Remembering the tasks that are needed to complete
college assignments can be a challenge. These apps
allow you to set tasks and to-do lists which remind you
when to do them.
Mindmap tools can help you freely layout your
paragraphs. Break up your essay paragraphs into
seperate bubbles and when they are sequenced just
copy and paste the content into a Word doc.
Researching is a key skill to acquire in College. Google
Scholar filters through academic material for you.
Also, Edpuzzle filters educational videos from a number
of sources that can be used for essays.
If you don’t have Word, then you can use some
alternatives. Google Doc (part of your Gmail account) can
be used to type up your docs and download it as a Word
doc. Open Office can be downloaded to your PC.
Students can require support with spelling and grammar.
Gingersoftware has a free version that you can
download to your computer. Also, the Hemmimgway
app website has spelling and grammar aids.
Creating bibliographies can be a new skill for new
students. These apps allow you to create a bibliography
quickly by scanning the barcode of a book/s and you
can choose how to format the info- Harvard etc.
Creating backups of your documents is nesserary if you
should loose your Memory stick. So free cloud storage
allows you to simply drag your doc into the cloud
storage and instantly creates a back-up.
If you don’t have Powerpoint then try Google slides (a
tool in your Gmail account). You can download your
completed presentation as a Powerpoint. Try Prezi to
create a visual and dynamic presentation.
