Are you trying to take your Twitter feed to the next level, but struggling to get there? Do you log in with guilt realizing your last tweet was 2 weeks ago? Are you wondering if anyone is paying attention to your Twitter feed, and are they really the people you want? Ami Neiberger-Miller (@AmazingPRMaven) will address these issues and more in her presentation on how to have a thriving Twitter feed and taking strategic steps to grow and manage it. She will discuss: auto-scheduling software vs. live-tweeting, contests, hashtags, time management, content curation, and more.

This talk was given at Last Conference, Melbourne on 30/06/2016. All teams usually work on the top items of their backlog but we decided to dedicate one day to work from the bottom of the backlog, and that day was a 1% day. Usually, the backlog of every product team comprises of cards that can qualify as “quick wins”, yet they do not see light of the day. This mainly happens because team and product owners want to work on things that provided maximum customer value. However, it is important to remember that some of these small improvements can actually delight your customers hence making a big difference. This talk was our experience report of how we ran this experiment at a product team by putting the entire team on fixing these long impending quick wins. Criteria of selection was simple – anything that could move from “to do” to “done” in a day. It did require some prep work in order to execute the experiment successfully. But the result was fantastic, we managed to move a sizeable amount of cards to the “done” state, the team as a whole feels motivated and we are now looking forward to more such collaboration opportunities ahead of us.

Soylent is a new age meal replacement, and one of the most unusual products we’ve ever heard of. Every decision they’ve made has contradicted that of practically every other successful startup. And those decisions have led to their success as massive hit with hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue.

I'll share the three factors that emerged as common themes throughout my experience working on government Agile Scaling projects that ultimately impacted the trajectory of each agency's Scaling journey: • Communicate vision consistently • Focus on your people genuinely • Create your own path intentionally Regardless of the agency acronym or the frameworks used, these concepts shaped their Scaling outcomes. So, whether you are working in the government, commercial or the non-profit space, these concepts can help you take your organization to the peak of its Agile Scaling journey.

On March 12, 2021, Julie Wyman presented on "Agile Lessons From Antarctica" at the DC Scrum User Group. Video and slides at https://www.kaizenko.com/agile-lessons-from-antarctica-responding-to-change-over-following-a-plan-by-julie-wyman-at-the-dc-scrum-user-group-dcsug/ Abstract I spent January 2018 in Antarctica hanging out with penguins, whales, and seals. It was about as different from my day-to-day work as an Agile Coach as can be. And yet, on my long flight home, I couldn’t help but reflect on how well my trip aligned with one specific value of the Agile Manifesto: “Responding to change over following a plan.” I think it’s a common misconception that there’s no need to plan in Agile. And while this isn’t the case, specific approaches to planning do change—from big upfront design to a “just enough” approach. The act of planning still holds great value when it occurs at the right level, but in Agile we accept that many things will change and we’ll need to remain flexible to respond to them. If we’ve planned well, we’ll go into those changes with a clear sense of our goal and how to still achieve it under the new circumstances. Nowhere is this truer than in Antarctica. Throughout the session, I’ll share six specific takeaways about change and planning that I brought back from my trip. I’ll share how my trip to Antarctica drove home why we need both planning AND, even more importantly, the ability to respond to change and how these real-life, non-software examples of responding to change can serve as great reminders to bring back to more typical work environments, including software development. And after being stuck in Antarctica six days longer than planned, I'll share why my biggest takeaway of them all was increased empathy for team members struggling with dynamic situations!

A few years back, I posed my peers the question ""Will designers lose design strategy to business strategists learning design thinking". Some said "Yes!" blaming complacency of design firms and contemporary design education. Others said "No", believing that our discipline is so unique that it can never be usurped. The answer probably lies somewhere in between. One way we can ensure the answer is "No!" is to develop strategic design techniques that provide value to business and bridge the often-wide communication gap between business and design professionals. I will share several that have been successful in my experience over the past few years at Isobar and Continuum.

Challenge yourself every day. If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, you have to challenge yourself and find always new goals to keep you motivated and driven Some people will tell you to only set accessible goals. But these are rarely challenging. Instead, shoot above. You’ll be surprised what you’re capable of doing. Find new ways to challenge yourself .. it could be teaching or mentoring younger professionals in your company is a worthy challenge

With more memory available, system performance of three Dell devices increased, which can translate to a better user experience Conclusion When your system has plenty of RAM to meet your needs, you can efficiently access the applications and data you need to finish projects and to-do lists without sacrificing time and focus. Our test results show that with more memory available, three Dell PCs delivered better performance and took less time to complete the Procyon Office Productivity benchmark. These advantages translate to users being able to complete workflows more quickly and multitask more easily. Whether you need the mobility of the Latitude 5440, the creative capabilities of the Precision 3470, or the high performance of the OptiPlex Tower Plus 7010, configuring your system with more RAM can help keep processes running smoothly, enabling you to do more without compromising performance.

Created by Mozilla Research in 2012 and now part of Linux Foundation Europe, the Servo project is an experimental rendering engine written in Rust. It combines memory safety and concurrency to create an independent, modular, and embeddable rendering engine that adheres to web standards. Stewardship of Servo moved from Mozilla Research to the Linux Foundation in 2020, where its mission remains unchanged. After some slow years, in 2023 there has been renewed activity on the project, with a roadmap now focused on improving the engine’s CSS 2 conformance, exploring Android support, and making Servo a practical embeddable rendering engine. In this presentation, Rakhi Sharma reviews the status of the project, our recent developments in 2023, our collaboration with Tauri to make Servo an easy-to-use embeddable rendering engine, and our plans for the future to make Servo an alternative web rendering engine for the embedded devices industry.
