United Way fights for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in the city of Alexandria, Arlington, DC, Fairfax/Falls Church, Loudoun County, Prince George’s County, Prince William County and Montgomery County.
UNITED WE FIGHT At Francis C Hammond Middle School in Alexandria 70% of students are eligible for free or reduced lunch. Hammond’s daily breakfast program serves 1454 students & weekend food distribution serves 115 families. 88% of students in our Middle School Success program make progress on academic goals. 70% 1454 UNITED WE WIN MIDDLE SCHOOL SUCCESS
UNITED WE FIGHT UNITED WE WIN 42.8% of Prince George’s County residents have less than 3 months of financial reserves. Our Financial Empowerment Centers & Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program prepared 13,300 tax returns worth $20.7M in returns & delivered a variety of financial services to more than 3,000 individuals. 42.8% $20.7M FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT CENTERS $20.7M
UNITED WE FIGHT UNITED WE WIN DC has 11,128 people experiencing homelessness – a rate double the national average. Project Homeless Connect brings essential services to people experiencing homelessness for a one- day resource fair. PHC participants gain access to services that might otherwise take months. 11,128 PROJECT HOMELESS CONNECT 1,100 served
UNITED WE FIGHT UNITED WE WIN 71.9% of DC kids report NOT being physically active (less than 60-minutes-a-day 5 days- a-week). UWNCA’s acclaimed Fun, Fly & Fit program is simple yet powerful: to get kids so enthused about physical fitness and nutrition that their attitudes and behaviors soar. 90% of DC participants indicated their health improved either “moderately” or “significantly” as result of the program. 71.9% 90 %90% FUN, FLY & FIT

  • 3. UNITED WE FIGHT At Francis C Hammond Middle School in Alexandria 70% of students are eligible for free or reduced lunch.
