Synopsis
This project was completed only with the guidance of Mrs. Vinita Mathur , Mrs.
Priyanka Saxena and Ms. Tanupriya Ma’am.
After gathering all the basic knowledge , Vinita Ma’am taught us what is
collection and how to make it . I started with my work of making a collection
(Quite difficult though to design something for an imaginary client ), further I did
market research to know what teen girls are accepting and what are their
choices and I also surfed various websites . After having adequate knowledge I
began with mood board and color board . Then I start doing some mind mapping
, illustrated them on few brainstorming sheets and then I finalized one design
and made a sheet having specification of the garment . With this sheet In hand,
it was easy to construct the garment . At last but not the least , I did a
photoshoot for a boosted promotion of the garment.

What is collection?
A collection is a grouping of outfits or looks that are
they are presented in a variety of ways , from catwalk
presentations to online web pages. Collection are
usually constructed from a combination of silhouettes,
colorsand fabrics , with the emphasis varying
depending on the designer’s particular aesthetic.
Any successful collection requires an enormous amount of research and planning.
Successful designer have a clear understanding of their customer’s need as well as their
position in a highly competitive market. The creation of any collection ,there are many
issues that need to be considered.
After careful research , designer begin to identify a specific market area and customer.
Themes and direction for collection can be enhanced and development from primary
research , regardless of location , time or season.
Designer will begin by explaining the overall look or the theme for the new collection .
This may be in the form of images ,drawings on inspiration or mood boards as well as
sourced garments , fabric cuttings. Then toil is prepared . And then the final garment is
prepared.
How its is Made?
Case Study
Design a range of 4 design for a young girl of age 18-25 years. The designs should be In trend and garment
created must have use various elements and texture.
You are required to produce 4 design in full color and all design should be illustration as a working drawing.
Consideration should be given to design including construction as well as surface interest of a three
dimensional garment (show back and front views Obligatory , and side views if needed.
Develop your design idea with due consideration of media use and present the idea for your portfolio. They
may be any shape or size as long as they fit into an A4 portfolio and should all be created using the various
media like Photoshop, corel draw and Illustrator.

Client Analysis
I have given a case study in which I have to create 4 designs for a young girl . She is my imaginary
client who’s age is between 15 – 25 years. Girls of this age group are very moody and choosy . Their
buying decisions are highly influenced by their taste and preferences. They actively follows latest
fashion trends and get attracted towards models and actors.
After reading the case study, I came up with a lot of questions:-
*Age 15-25 ?
*What I have to design?
*Brainstorming ?
*Which Silhouette suits my client?
*Range ?
*what kind of texture?
*Which Fabric is in trend and comfortable for my client?
*Media ?
*Which color is in trend ?

My Needs for research
After Analyzing the case and needs of my client. My needs for begins to fulfill the
needs of my client .
The needs are :-
*I have to do market research so that I’ll be able to know the
latest trend.
• What type of fabric ?
• What type of design ?
• What types of silhouette ?
• Which types of surface design techniques are used ?
*Then I have to make inspiration board, mood board (according to my client mood and
occasion) , color board
*Brainstorming design 20 to 30 sketch
*After finalizing a design I have to make a specification sheet
*Finally I have to stitch a garment which I have finalized
*I have to do photo shoot with client for promotion
Market research
After careful investigation and analyzing my client’s needs. I began to Identify the market to know the
latest trend and what this age group is accepting more . To get the information of fabric construction
and detailing of silhouette , surface design techniques.
For my queries related to fabrics , trend I went to local market and also surfed many fashion websites.
Online Market :- Vogue , Allen Solly , Trends etc.
Local Market :-
1. Ajmer = Pantaloons , Trends , Being Human
2. Bhilwara = W for Women , Madame
I concluded that girls mostly demand for western outfits like tunics , gowns , off shoulder and mostly
tries to pair up Jeans – T-shirts, shirt – skirts.
*Ruffles , gathers , frills , fringes are mostly used in these garments.
*Surface design techniques are also used because they give an elegant look .

What is Mass market ?
High street retailers , range is scheduled to be available in store at prescribed times. Will
continue to offer core ranges that evolve from season to season.
I choose mass market because there are many choices and are at regionable range . Anyone can
purchase this whether they belong to high class (rich) or middle class. One can have vast choice
and can select as per their choice and taste. But Mostly higher middle prefer mass market
brands. So that they have branded clothes and have class in the society.

  • 7. Synopsis This project was completed only with the guidance of Mrs. Vinita Mathur , Mrs. Priyanka Saxena and Ms. Tanupriya Ma’am. After gathering all the basic knowledge , Vinita Ma’am taught us what is collection and how to make it . I started with my work of making a collection (Quite difficult though to design something for an imaginary client ), further I did market research to know what teen girls are accepting and what are their choices and I also surfed various websites . After having adequate knowledge I began with mood board and color board . Then I start doing some mind mapping , illustrated them on few brainstorming sheets and then I finalized one design and made a sheet having specification of the garment . With this sheet In hand, it was easy to construct the garment . At last but not the least , I did a photoshoot for a boosted promotion of the garment.

  • 9. What is collection? A collection is a grouping of outfits or looks that are they are presented in a variety of ways , from catwalk presentations to online web pages. Collection are usually constructed from a combination of silhouettes, colorsand fabrics , with the emphasis varying depending on the designer’s particular aesthetic.
  • 10. Any successful collection requires an enormous amount of research and planning. Successful designer have a clear understanding of their customer’s need as well as their position in a highly competitive market. The creation of any collection ,there are many issues that need to be considered. After careful research , designer begin to identify a specific market area and customer. Themes and direction for collection can be enhanced and development from primary research , regardless of location , time or season. Designer will begin by explaining the overall look or the theme for the new collection . This may be in the form of images ,drawings on inspiration or mood boards as well as sourced garments , fabric cuttings. Then toil is prepared . And then the final garment is prepared. How its is Made?
  • 11. Case Study Design a range of 4 design for a young girl of age 18-25 years. The designs should be In trend and garment created must have use various elements and texture. You are required to produce 4 design in full color and all design should be illustration as a working drawing. Consideration should be given to design including construction as well as surface interest of a three dimensional garment (show back and front views Obligatory , and side views if needed. Develop your design idea with due consideration of media use and present the idea for your portfolio. They may be any shape or size as long as they fit into an A4 portfolio and should all be created using the various media like Photoshop, corel draw and Illustrator. Suggested areas of consideration 1. Silhouette 2. Fabrication 3. Pattern and texture 4. Color 5. Graphics 6. Presentation 7. Fashion direction
  • 12. Client Analysis I have given a case study in which I have to create 4 designs for a young girl . She is my imaginary client who’s age is between 15 – 25 years. Girls of this age group are very moody and choosy . Their buying decisions are highly influenced by their taste and preferences. They actively follows latest fashion trends and get attracted towards models and actors. After reading the case study, I came up with a lot of questions:- *Age 15-25 ? *What I have to design? *Brainstorming ? *Which Silhouette suits my client? *Range ? *what kind of texture? *Which Fabric is in trend and comfortable for my client? *Media ? *Which color is in trend ?

To get the information of fabric construction and detailing of silhouette , surface design techniques. For my queries related to fabrics , trend I went to local market and also surfed many fashion websites. Online Market :- Vogue , Allen Solly , Trends etc. Local Market :- 1. Ajmer = Pantaloons , Trends , Being Human 2. Bhilwara = W for Women , Madame I concluded that girls mostly demand for western outfits like tunics , gowns , off shoulder and mostly tries to pair up Jeans – T-shirts, shirt – skirts. *Ruffles , gathers , frills , fringes are mostly used in these garments. *Surface design techniques are also used because they give an elegant look .
