7. What Is Art And Craft?
Art is one of the ways by which a person can convey their feelings and emotions. It is a
field where there are many talented people arising . From ancient times , people have
been conveying their message in the form of art, whether it is a cave painting or
something which today is called digital art. I think that the message we convey through
a painting or drawing leaves a much deeper impression often last much longer tat other
ways to convey idea like by speaking or by writing .
Craft is a field of art which usually involves making of something which is 3-Dimensional
. Art does not involves learning or studying , but something which captures the eye.

9. Tie And Dye
Tie and dye or Bandhani is a modern term invented in the mid 1960s in the US (earlier
in the form of tied and dyed Charles E. Pellow). The process of tie and dye typically
consist of folding , twisting , pleating, or crumpling Fabric or a garment and binding
with string or rubber bands.
Tie and dye is characterized by the use of bright colors and bold patterns .. These
patterns, including the spiral , mandala, and peace sign , and the bold colors .
Few tie and dye prints are :Shibori print etc.

10. Madhubani Art
Madhubani art (or Mithila Painting) is practiced in the Mithila region of
the indian subcontinent. Painting is done by fingers , twigs, brushes, nib-
pens, and matchsticks, etc. Using natural dyes and pigments , and is
characterised by eye-catching geometrical patterns. There is ritual
content for particular occasions , such as birth or marriiage , and
festivals , such as Holi, Surya Shasti, Kali Puja , Upanayana , Durga Pooja.
Madhubani art has 5 distinctive styles, namely Bharni, Katchni, Tantrik,
Godna and Khobar..
Madhubani Paintings mostly depict the men & its association with
nature, and the scenes and deity from ancient epics. Natural objects like
the sun , the moon , and the religious plants like tulsi are also widely
painted, along with scenes from the Royal court and social events like
weddings. Generally no space is empty ; the gaps are filled by paintings
of flowers , animals, birds, and even geometric designs

11. Design a trendy dress for a girl of 20-25 years. Prerequisite for the
design is the use of different art and craft techniques and various
elements and textures. Garment created must display these
particulars.
Consideration should be given to design including construction as
well as surface interest of a three dimensional garment (show back
and front views Obligatory , and side views if needed).
Develop your design idea with due consideration of media use and
present the idea for your portfolio. They may be any shape or size as
long as they fit into an A4 portfolio and should all be created using
the various media like Photoshop, Corel draw and Illustrator.
