2. Problem
Mobile is becoming a major revenue stream for graphical arts. Over
35% of wall art, print-on-demand items, and licenses are bought on
mobile devices. So, it’s a good idea to connect with these people.
But the mobile audience is difficult to reach: there are more than 10
major social networks and messengers, where images play a major
role, each has millions of users. You can’t be everywhere.

3. Why not allow potential customers and fans do all the advertising for
you? Surveys say that up to 86% of people would like to access
interactive / visual content on demand.
We believe that if you give them interactive content with your name
on it, they will share it to every corner of the mobile world. And you
won’t need to do anything else to attract new customers.
Our vision

4. Our product
Visly is a mobile application that allows its users to express themselves
through freemium images by combining them with text labels, drawings,
filters, and sharing them to any mobile app or social network.
All images created and shared in our app are protected by visible and
invisible watermarks with your name. Links to your stores and portfolio
are built into Visly - giving you more revenue and a new audience.
Freemium means that this content is low-resolution (800x600 is enough) and is free only for
personal use (no advertising, designs, editorials, templates, prints, etc). Commercial licenses
and prints will be sold separately.

5. Your immediate benefits
Visly aims to create a win-win platform for artists and users. Even though you
make your images a little more accessible, the immediate benefits for you are:
• Reach a much wider and more loyal audience. Graphical art is great for sharing
emotional moments, so people will be more involved in your content.
• Sell more prints and commercial licenses that you have in other stores. Our
users will see links to your stores right inside Visly application - free ads for you!
• Fewer cases of stealing. Our users will happily accept a small watermark with
your name in exchange for free personal use, no need to steal.

7. Terms
You upload small-resolution JPG copies of
your works to our mobile app (800x600 is
enough – that’s what you already expose
in stores and portfolio sites).
Our users can interact with your images:
draw on them, add text or messages, share
to social networks, use in messengers.
Your authorship of the original is always
indicated in the bottom right corner, so that
people can trace you and your works back
to Visly or your stores and personal sites.
Our users will not be able to use your works
for any commercial purposes, ads, prints,
designs, editorials, templates etc.
You keep all the rights and can quit at any
time – we’ll withdraw images from Visly and
revoke licenses if necessary.
We display links to your portfolio site and
stores in the application, so that any user
of Visly can easily reach you and purchase
whatever you have to offer.

8. How does it look?
That’s how your image
may look when posted
on somebody’s
Instagram. Note the user-
added text «We are back for
one more round». Plus there
is a visible watermark
in the bottom right
corner.

and does not imply author’s affiliation with Visly.
Modifications: 3 new text labels.

9. Why are we doing this?
• We want to make graphical art more accessible, and give authors a safe and
easy way to connect with the mobile audience and protect their works.
• We want to turn graphical art into a communication tool – so that anyone can
use it to express his or her feelings and thoughts.
• We want to provide ordinary users with great content that will reduce the amount
of garbage they share on social networks, for lack of a better alternative.
• We want to change the way people buy graphical art (prints, licenses, etc).
Right now they browse before making a decision. Why not let them interact first
and get more loyal customers?

10. How are we going to monetize?
Right now we provide links to your stores and portfolios within the app, so
that anyone who downloads Visly will be able to contact you (or your
stores) about prints, commissions and commercial licenses directly.
Later on we will introduce automatic monetization features that will be
based around our interaction-centric user experience:
• Commercial licenses (purchasable right from the application)
• Print-on-demand goods (t-shirts, wall prints and so on)

11. How are we going to protect your works?
At this moment Visly offers simple automatic attribution in the bottom right
corner of your image.
We are also developing an algorithm that will allow us to put invisible
watermarks with license and authorship information into your images
and then track them on the web (using services like Tineye).
Our algorithm already works for images without large monotone areas –
the quality doesn’t suffer at all.
/ 1511
12. CC
Creative Commons is just a decentralized
license – there is no company that is
motivated to regulate how your works
are used or offer copyright protection.
You are on your own.
Creative Commons is a perpetual license –
you can't quit once you release your work
under CC, it's free.. forever.
How are we different from Creative Commons?
CC
The attribution requirements of Creative
Commons (title, author, source, full license
specifications and a link to license deed) are
very complex and difficult to follow on popular
social networks, like Twitter or Instagram.
CC
Visly can develop services for copyright
protection and issue licenses in a
centralized way. You always know who
you can talk to, and how you can solve
issues with unauthorized use.
Visly offers a revocable license – you can
quit any time you want. We will stop
offering your works in our application, plus
we reserve the right to ask our users
to delete copies of your work.
Visly offers simple automatic attribution in
the bottom right corner, plus we’re working
on an invisible watermark. Your stores and
portfolios are always available in Visly and
soon will be visible on our website.
/ 1512
13. How are we different from Instagram or Pinterest?
Unlike them, Visly is not about displaying your content or letting users to
like it within our app.
Visly allows its users to interact with your works and use them to
communicate and express themselves on social networks and
messengers, as long as it’s for personal purposes.
You could say that Visly is a gateway into the mobile world. This means
you will not be limited to your own stores and social accounts – thanks to
Visly people who love your works will advertise for you everywhere.
/ 1513
14. Sounds interesting, what should I do?
First, we are deeply grateful to you for support. It really means a lot to us!
Let us know about your decision and any questions that you might have.
At this moment we are putting final touches to our site and mobile
application, and will release them in a couple of weeks.
Once our site is live, you will able to upload your images. We will stay
in touch and be as open about what’s happening with Visly as possible.
