BHP Ventures Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated in year 2015 in provision of
professional civil and structural engineering consultancy services. BHP
Ventures is established by a group of practicing engineers with a high
commitment to provide excellent civil and structural consultancy services to
our Client.
The foundation of the company is to provide value engineering solutions
and good responsive services to meet clients’ needs. Together with our
competent and skilled Professional Engineers and passionate engineers,
BHP Ventures is strived to provide higher level of services towards a safe
and professional consultancy services.
BHP Ventures is determined to provide value engineering solutions with
problem-solving skills and approaches strategize to work closely with

Ir Teong Choo Cheing

Director
Ir Teong Choo Cheing graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil
Engineering degree from Oklahoma State University, USA. He practiced
with Katsura Consulting Engineer in USA for 2 years before coming back to
Malaysia to continue his career in local companies. He is a registered
Professional Engineer with Board of Engineers Malaysia, Corporate
Member of The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia.
He has more than 28 years of experience in project management and site
supervision for medium to high scale project development. He has
extensive experience in Design and Build projects, excellent in design
coordination between various field of expertise.
He is comprehended with first principals of engineering in practical
construction solutions to avoid unnecessary design and construction
deficiency. During his training in consultancy office, he has gained design
experience in geotechnical aspects for problematic soil conditions, such as
marine clay and limestone formation.
He has demonstrated a keen interest and determination in site supervisory
procedures, documentation for ISO implementation and cost study on
project budgetary for successful and timely completion of project. His
specialities are civil and structural construction management and contract
administration for high-end commercial and residential development.

Ir Wong Kiang Seong
B.Eng (Hons), M.I.E.M, P.Eng.
Director
Ir. Wong Kiang Seong has more than 18 years of professional experience
in Civil and Structural Engineering. He is a registered Professional Engineer
with Board of Engineers Malaysia and Corporate Member of The Institution
of Engineers, Malaysia.
He has extensive experience in structural design for high-rise residential
buildings, high-rise commercial office tower blocks, retail shopping malls,
institutional buildings, hotel suites and hospital buildings. He has been
exposed to various design skills in reinforced concrete, structural steel
works, earth retaining structure, shallow and deep foundation design and
deep excavation for basement (top-down construction).
He also extensively involved in independent accredited checker works and
also reviews of alterative engineering solutions for cost optimization
purpose. He possesses a good knowledge in using commercial design
software, such as Staad Pro, Orion, Safe, Etabs, Rapt, Plaxis and AutoCAD
for various structural elements design and detailing.

With more than 20 years in architectural and C&S drafting, he is now a BIM
Manager with strong computer, technical and communication skills to seek
out and resolve issues through close interaction with other project team
members. His duties and responsibilities include:
i. Trade Coordination
• Coordinate all BIM Logistics (Contracts, Emails, File sharing, etc.)
• Create, maintain and analyze federated model mainly for
coordination purposes.
• Review design document and coordination conflicts.
• Run and analyze clash detection on federated model.
• Meet with designers/owners as required to facilitate review of
models as needed.
ii. Create & Maintain Models For Project Specific Requirements
• Create models including structure, interior and exterior architectural
elements and MEP systems.
• Coordinate with BIM service providers and Subcontractors.
iii. Field Coordination
• Assist project team with construction coordination and scheduling.
• Provide field subcontractors with the most current coordinated
information.
• Work with the field staff to understand how they work and what
information they need.

BHP Ventures is appointed to provide a value engineering solution to introduce shear wall
system with plastic formwork. Post Tensioning Transfer Plate is introduced to facilitate
better shear wall layout. The PT Transfer Plate is among the first to be constructed in
Kuching, Sarawak.
D. Construction And Completion Of Proposed 10-Storey Commercial Cum SOHO On Lot 33,
71 & 72 (Plot 1), Section 21, KTLD At Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg, Kuching, Sarawak.
Status: Construction Stage 90%
(Estimated Construction Cost: RM160 million)
BHP Ventures is appointed to provide a value engineering solution to introduce shear wall
system coupled with Pre-cast Rib Beam Flooring system. Post Tensioning Transfer Plate
is introduced to facilitate better shear wall layout. The combination of these 3
greatly reduced the overall construction period by 5-8 months.
