How business use QR codes There are many ways to QR codes These are just a few examples of the most successful or effective ways of using QR codes. Companies Market their product with QR codes. Mobile marketing is becoming a way of the future along with smartphone technology. QR codes can be used to find a location on Google. Toyota uses it to get product information. Nissan and Toyota use QR codes to distribute information about key features inside their vehicles. The QR coupon has reinvented the task of “cutting coupons” out of the newspaper. In japan consumers scan QR codes to get nutritional information on products like groceries and fast food.
Effective QR Code Google is introducing the sharing of business coupons via QR codes. When the code is scanned the smart phone will display a coupon or voucher that can be redeemed in the store from the image on the screen.

Some examples of business that use QR codes are McDonalds, Home Improvement stores like Lowe’s and home Depot, Little Caesars, Google, Facebook, Toyota, Mazda and British Broadcasting Corporation.1. McDonald’s is launching a new global packaging design that incorporates QR codes to give consumers nutritional information about their food. It is the latest brand to promote informed decisions about health, as Coca-Cola made headlines last week for an ad that aims to tackle obesity. The designs will be featured on all carry-out bags and fountain beverage cups, communicating ‘brand stories’ and delivering facts with a mix of text and illustrationsKevin Newell, McDonald’s chief brand officer, said:Our new packaging is designed to engage with customers in relevant ways and celebrate our brand. Customers tell us they want to know more about the food they are eating and we want to make that as easy as possible by putting this information right at their fingertips.2. Home Improvement stores like Lowes and Home Depot use QR Codes to advertise their products. Home Depot and Lowe’s currently have bar codes on plant tags that let customers with smartphone scanners acquire important plant care information, such as when to plant and the amount of sun advised. The timing is ideal since this is the season when millions of garden plants are sold. Home Depot has also placed bar codes on its outdoor patio sets, in addition to airing a national bar-code commercial. The retailer is even testing newspaper circulars with bar codes that link to a video about its new Martha Stewart kitchen line. When scanned, the codes lead to a video featuring Ms. Stewart describing her new line and urging viewers to make an appointment with a Home Depot designer.While Home Depot is using black-and-white checked quick-response codes (QR codes), Lowe’s is differentiating itself by using Microsoft tag technology with colorful squares. Lowe’s is placing bar codes only on products that call for additional how-to information.3. Little Caesars uses them for coupons on their Local Ads 4. Google recently sent out 100,000 stickers to selected US businesses for use on their storefront windows. The stickers have the Google Maps logo and a QR code that can be scanned by smart phone cameras and display Google listings for the business on the phone screen. The businesses chosen by Google are designated "Favorite Places" and were selected on the basis of the number of searches made for the business on Google Maps. If the business chooses to stick the decal on their store window, smart phone users can scan the QR code using the phone's camera, and Google listings about the place are displayed. The listings can include information such as reviews, details of opening times, contact information, prices, links to the website, and so on.
Businesses have reinvented or redesigned QR codes by making them interesting and catching with pictures logos, some have company logos as well. These code try to stand out from the plain and boring white and black QR codes and move into a form of art that captures the eye of potential consumers.
Teacher can use them The first use is V-Cards on their syllabus and any other documents that need (or could benefit from) their contact information, add a QR code so students and colleagues can quickly upload your information to their contact list.The second use is aclassroom calendar on their syllabus and handouts, link to their classroom’s calendar with a QR code. The third use is posting assignments for the week, teachers can keep students updated on the weekly schedule with a QR code that will take them to a website with the assignments for each week. The fourth use is to link to an end of class assignment this discourages skipping out or leaving early by placing a QR code on their last slide for a quick poll or quiz to be completed in class. Some of these assignments could be for extra creditor part of the overall grade.
How students can use them 1. The first use is to link to presentations. If students want to follow along with lectures/presentations in class while reading handouts, a student canjust add a QR code to their document. 2. The second use is students can list sources. Students use a QR code to organize and list all of their sources for a presentation to create an easy way for people to find the information.3. The third use students can check their answers. An added QR codes to assignments, allows students to check their answers as they go.4. The fourth use students have for a QR code is toget answers to questions in class with hundreds of students, asking for answers may be a bit daunting, but with a QR code, all of the students in the class can submit answers at once, and the teacher can highlight interesting ones in the lecture immediately.
The problem is QR codes haven’t caught on in collegeYou might think that if anyone would know how to use a QR code, it would be college students -- a demographic that is immersed in technology and bombarded by marketing. But a recent study found that nearly eight in 10 college students had no idea what to do with a QR code.Archrival, a research group that focuses on youth marketing, surveyed 500 students at 24 colleges and universities across the United States. They found that although about 80% of students owned a smartphone and had previously seen a QR code, only about 20% were able to successfully scan the example QR code they were shown.Furthermore, about 75% said they were unlikely to scan a QR code in the future."Why the discrepancy?" wrote Don Aguirre, brand manager at Archrival. "Students simply struggled with the process. Some didn't know a third-party app was needed [to scan the QR code]. Many mistakenly assumed it could be activated with their camera. And others just lost interest, saying the activity took too long.
QR codes can be used in the job search A student can put them on their resume whether video or print. They can put it on their business card, another use for QR codes is in print ads, and a fourth use is a name tag for quick access to contact information.
3 easy requirements to market you better in the job market with QR codes First 1. Include a QR Code within your resume that links to your blog’s “About Me” page.If you are pumping out awesome, niche-related content, your #1 goal should be directing hiring managers to your blog.
