4. Leading the Revolution
The Haitian Revolution started on
the Night of Fire and continued until
1803. Louverture lead the Haitians.
He then fought for the French, then
went back to side with the Haitians
until his death.
5. Death
Louverture died on April 7, 1803. He
was captured by Charles LeClerc and
was sent to Fort de Joux. He died
before Haiti was freed in 1804 by
Jean-Jacques Dessalines.
