  2. 2. A: Lateral view of hypopharynx shows curvilinear filling defect representing prominent cricopharyngeus muscle visualized throughout the swallow. B:Moderately large cricopharyngeal (Zenker’s) diverticulum containing barium exerts narrowing effect on the cervical esophagus.
  3. 3. High esophageal stricture with diffuse pseudodiverticulosis.
  4. 4. Scleroderma with esophageal cancer.
  5. 5. Hypertrophic pyloric stenosis. Upper gastrointestinal study shows mass effect of hypertrophic pyloric muscle producing shouldering (arrowhead) on the gastric antrum (A) and duodenal bulb (D). There is elongation and narrowing of the pylorus (P), the string sign.
