64. Jeevan Dhaara gives a discharge of 23kl at a head of 8mtrs & 10kl at a head of 45mtrs. The overhead tank shall be raised to a height of 20’ above ground level. If the water table is at 40’ the total head is 18mtrs. The output to the tank will be around 15kl/hour. For meeting the requirements of 500 people @40ltrs/day the total requirement would be 20kl i.e. less than 2 hours of pumping time/day = 60 hours per month. 66. No. Jeevan Dhaara has a high efficiency screw pump at the bottom which is driven from the top by a drive shaft. Thus there is just 1 complete moving part. All other parts i.e. gears and drive pulley are on the surface.

70. There have been no problems with the pumps installed till date. Some have been running now for over 5 years. However from an academic point of view the average life may be taken as over 15 years.
